The Hotel is definitely overrated, from European point of view. We would give it 3***, mostly for its excellent location. For a 4-star establishment the reception & room service is often inadequate, the room is average, often dirty - and don’t expect to find every amenity you saw advertised while booking! Having said that, don’t forget you’re in Istanbul –...

1. Location wise its in the touristy area so within walkable distance to the attractions, all expensive (ripping off prices) stores/restaurants 2.Morning Prayers wake you up every morning at 5ish 6am as its too close to the mosque. 3. The room is cozy for a triple room that we took. Breakfast has reasonable quality with varierites and honey hives. Problem...

We loved the Obelisk! We spent 7 days in Istanbul for our 2nd anniversary. The location was perfect and we walked to all of the sights, which was a great way to see the city. I arranged for the hotel to pick us up from the airport (free of charge), which worked out perfectly. Unfortunately, due to the disaster that...

All places of interests are located in the nearest distance from the hotel, however in the evening it's a very quiet place. Rates are complied with rooms and service. I have...

We got a pretty good deal in this hotel in the beginning of december. It is close to all major tourist sights. The rooms are decent and clean. The breakfast was good and as noted earlier the staff is really friendly. Don't forget to eat in the restaurant of the Hotel, it is actually quite good and not that expensive....

Really enjoyable stay in a smart hotel, close to the main tourist attractions - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Just a short walk through the picturesque old town area. The reception staff were very helpful and restaurant staff seemed to be genuinely happy at their job. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and of a high standard. Of the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
