Beautifully decorated hotel, nice and very helpful staff, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable; massive windows (with the appropriate curtains to prevent waking up at the crack of dawn) onto the Bosphorus along the entire wall of the room. Restaurants are fine (breakfast buffet quite good, and the bar type restaurant has a nice terrace for summer evenings /...

Stayed in the club level for my honeymoon. Felt like royalty, and Mesut took incredible care of my wife and I. The Ritz staff were there to help in any way, and even had a few surprises for my wife and I!Close walking distance to good shopping, food, bars, etc.

I am writing this review to reflect my experience and my expectation from a hotel of its own level. I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and I have to say that it was a very good experience overall. The rooms were spacious, bright and quite modernly furbished but a bit without much character... I was really impressed by...

I made a mistake and booked a room one day earlier than I was supposed to--my mistake, but I did ask the hotel to refund that night as a gesture of good faith, but only if they had plenty of inventory for the night that was mistakenly booked (if it was the last room and they held it for me,...

The knock on the Ritz is "that it's out of the way." Although up the hill from the Ciragan Palace, it's location allows you spectacular views of the Golden Horn from nearly every room, and the peace and quiet away from all of the more popular tourist places. So frankly, I find it's location to be a great plus...and so...

I say this about the location knowing it's just up the hill from the stadium and the Ciragan Palace...still, having stayed at the Four Seasons Sultanhamet and Bosphorus where you're right in the thick of things, this Ritz feels a bit out of the way. That being said, staff are over-the-top accommodating, the breakfast buffet is decadent, and the rooms...

The Ritz is among the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time. The bathroom was extremely cozy and grand. The room was very nicely sized and the bed was very comfortable. They gave us turn down service without asking. The location is good with an amazing view, we caught a sunrise just over the Asian mountains one day....

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
