what a rip of for this terrible, dusty and smelly room. Horrible mould smell when first opened the door, and we asked what was this smell they say there wasn't one. The rooms never get cleaned, except changing bin bag, bed sheets never, you need to wait 15 running water before getting warm water I had to ask three times...

The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The location was excellent. The choice of wild fungi growing right there in the bathroom was unparalleled! Lovers of wild nature will also rejoice at the appearance of dozens of majestic ants, parading each morning across the floor, from the mushrooms to your bed, a breathtaking sight in the Istanbul sunrise... A fragrant...

We booked for three weeks. Nothing said on the web site was true. The place was terrible. They failed to pick us up at the airport, then lied about it. The room was a mess, with leaking shower, toilet not working, exposed electrical wires, no gas for the hot plate, no utensils or even a chair to sit on. We...

Well located hotel, in a quiet but central place. Nice (one person) staff but very poorly equipped hotel. No window in the room and furniture from the sixties in a recent building... go figure why... Good only if you need a place to sleep.... and nothing else.

Booked in January, called contact number 2 days before we arrived just to confirm our booking but as soon as we asked for English speaker the phone was put down. Stayed at Aya Sofya Apart Hotel for six nights with my family. As committed by the hotel management, a vehicle was at the ariport to pick me. Was greeted by Erhan, the manager, who had arranged a room on the first floor as per my request. The room was spacious as per Sultanahmet area standards and quite clean. The washroom...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
