I really enjoyed our stay here! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the room had a view of the ocean. The location was fantastic--right by the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and the Hagia Sophia.

First, to the hotel itself. Location was fantastic. Views were great. The rooms were minimal, small, noisy, bathrooms were tiny, beds bad. I would say below what is typical of Eastern European hotels. Breakfast was OK, at best. The only other Turkish hotel experience I have had was in Ephesus and it was far, far superior to this. No comparison...

The good bits first, this is a cheap hotel in a good location, sights of Sultanahmet all within walking distance and close to Ceberlitas tram station. Good Wi-Fi coverage. The view from the terrace is very good over the Sea of Marmara and (just about) the Blue Mosque. If you want to eat with other tourists or get reasonably priced...

This was our first visit to the Istanbul city and staying at this hotel for a 4 night city break. GOOD POINTS: None - glad to be out of there. BAD POINTS: 1) very dingy 2) appalling poor customer service 3) limited breakfast option I will never return to this place or recommend anyone. Firstly I emailed the owner from...

Booked to stay at the Old City Hotel for 5 nights but upon arrival was told that there was a booking issue so we were moved to the 'My Home Sta' hotel 2 doors away. First room had the worst smell coming from the leaking toilet. The curtains didn't shut either. Complained and got moved without an apology. Second room...

This hotel is a bit run down but nevertheless our stay was a very pleasant one The staff are very friendly and helpful-our room was a bit tired but was clean. We only used it for sleeping and showering the remainder of our time was spent out and about. It is in a good location near most of the main...

As somebody said in another review, "old" is the word to describe this place. I would also add that if at least it was cleaner it would make a difference. I think they are not bothered. It is cheap, but for the same price you can find better places, where they show they care. Breakfast is dreadful for a city...

Istanbul is fantastic but do not stay here. Where to start.... 1. Advertising and booking apartments that are not available or do not exist. 2. Overbooking in general. Whilst we were there at least four guests apart from ourselves were billeted in nearby hotels. I moved twice. 3. Bathrooms are tiny and falling apart. Plenty of hot water. Complimentary toiletries??...
