Yeni Hostel is located in Sultanahmet - you can walk to the Hagia Sofia,Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar in 10minutes or so, or take the tram - it's a couple of stops away. The tram station was 2-3 minutes from the hostel and it took around half an hour to get to Taksim Square. There are plenty of eateries and...

You could not ask for a better location. Just minutes walking to the main sites. Almost adjacent to Topkapi Palace. For budget travelers, an outstanding value with very fair prices. Very clean and well maintained.

Yeni Hostel (more of a hotel) is in a good location for exploring the tourist sights in the old town area (Blue Mosque, Museums, Grand Bazaar, etc). It is within walking distance to all of them. It is also right near the T1 tram line for easy access to other places in the city. It is completely surrounded by restaurants,...

Stayed for 4 nights in a single room. Was really cheap for what you get. Overall good condition and clean but looked a bit old which probably is hard to avoid in an old building like this. Oh and it was very calm at nights.

I rarely write these reviews but the hotel manager Mustafa was so exceptionally helpful and considerate that I could not help but send more business his way. He made our group of 12 so welcome, he was happy to spend time giving advice about the best hamams at a more affordable price outside of Sultanahmet, he personally led us to...

Excellent location. Close to tram, subway and farry. You can reach all interesting places in Sultanahmet easily even by feet. Staff are hospitable. Free tea and coffee. Wi-fi works stable. Clean. A little bit noisy. You can hear everything that going on in a corridor. But it did not bother us during the night. Price is commensurate with quality. When...

Best location! Easy accessible from airport (metro and T1 tram line). Only mins walk away from all Istanbul's main tourist attractions - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Galata Bridge, Sultanahmet park, Spice Market..etc. So many restaurants and fast food shops near by (even.. Macdonald & burger king). Pretty quiet at night but safe area. Room is very basic, nice and clean....

Best location! Only mins walk away from all Istanbul's main historical attractions. Room was nice and clean, very spacious. Their common toilet was one of the most spacious we saw in our 2 week trips in Turkey. Staff was nice and helpful. Great place to stay if you are on a budget.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“If you're looking for peace and quiet, go for the last floor. As there's no elevator, the top floor isn't as busy. Ask for a room that isn't next to the shower or toilet to avoid being disturbed by toilet visits.”
