I only stayed there for one night but I enjoyed the service. The hotel's location is perfect: near to all attractions (in the heart of the old medina) and easily accessible and at the same time in a very calm and hidden corner far enough from the noisy places. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was so...

This hotel is close to almost all attractions. Everything is within walking distance. The staff is good and helpful. One thing that I didn't like about this hotel is the restaurant. It is small and a bit crowded.

I was given a room on the 4th floor and it had a big window with an awesome sea view. It is probably the best view i ever got in a hotel room. I'll be back if i visit Istanbul again. The place is run by a family and they are a very friendly bunch, especially Omar. The nice size...

Our goal was to visit the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Museum. We (a family of 5)found Blue Istambul hotel to be a great location and a friendly place to checkin. The upper room accomodations we got had a beautiful view. Rooms were clean and looked newly built. My wife found the bathrooms a bit small but the rooms were...

This was a very nice hotel to stay at. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room spotless, new and well designed. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk away from the Great Mosque and little streets with lots of vintage, traditional shops and amazing restaurants, where you can indulge on tasty Turkish food. The staff was friendly...

Room wasn't big but you have things you need around. Hotel manager, and staff are talkative and nice. Apple tea and homemade coffee as hospitality was impressive. Located at the Sultanahmet District, it's a 10-15 mins walking distance to The Blue Mosque, and we found local cuisines nearby plus a supermarket 2 blocks away. Also, there is a convenient store...

This is a great place to stay in Istanbul. We had a very comfortable room which was kitchly Turkish. The hotel initially is quite difficult to find. Breakfast could do with a revamp. The location is ideal, however, being not far from the Great Mosque and the T1 Tram to the metro and airport.

We booked the economic room, in the basement. We had to change when we came, as the room smells very much because of humidity. We were charged additional 20 USD/night for a clean room. We were two ladies sharing the room, and the owner behave on very inappropriate way. We always declined politely his advances, until he became very agressive...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
