Our family stay at Villa Hagia Sophia was absolutely fantastic. It felt like home away from home.Relaxing and quiet, yet very close to tourist sites at Sultanahmet. We really enjoyed ourself and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definately say there again and highly recommend.

I spent ten days in this old remodeled 4 suite villa in Instanbul historical center. I was looking for a quiet place to write and study and was very happy with this choice. Suites have classy furnishing, somewhat typical. Breakfast is served in the little garden (very relaxing too, I used to read there) and offers typical Turkish products as...

Villa Hagia Sophia is a traditional converted Turkish house, little details in decoration have been thought about which really make a difference to your stay. Lovely big bath in the bedroom, spacious enough especially considering you have a living space and bedroom space. The breakfast was more continental but you can also have eggs made of your choice. Excellent location...

Our stay here was first class. The Manager Farouk was warm & friendly along with the other staff members. The room was clean, spacious & luxurious. Breakfast was fresh & filling. The hotel is also situated literally 5mins from the beautiful blue mosque. This topped a very enjoyable stay in beautiful Istanbul. Thank you x

We stayed here for 4 nights for our trip to Istanbul. There were 3 floors: basement floor, 1st floor (you may say it is ground floor) and 2nd floor. Basement floor is basically the working place of their staff and kitchen. 2 rooms in each of 1st and 2nd floors. So there are only 4 rooms in this hotel. We...

Stayed for two days at the tail end of a business trip. Excellent room with lion-foot bathtub in the room, just the ticket for tired legs. Friendly and helpful service, delicious breakfast with Turkish specialties. Impressed by the night porter who made us coffee and small cakes very early in the morning before going to the airport. Everything is very...

After a long flight we loved this small hotel. We were greeted and helped with our bags and even given some late afternoon tea. We had some friends who live in the area meet us there and they were surprised as well to see such nice, clean and roomy accommodattions. It was nice to have a bed and a little...

Arrived at the small and cute hotel a bit late, but their was someone to help us. Next day got intensive info about the city after breakfast. Good place to stay for a city trip, close to the major highlights! And also close to eating facilities. Nice rooms and friendly people.

While on vacation in Istanbul I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel in the old city, less than a mile from the extraordinary Blue Mosque and a sister facility in Taksim, the modern upscale side of the city called Villa Pera. The service was excellent, Baruck, Faruck and Alper were wonderful hosts who went out of their way...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
