Loved: Hotel is very new (opened May this year) and as such, towels are still plush, comforters are still billowy. Good a/c and heater. Good water pressure for shower. Breakfast is good and filled you up for the morning. With only 9 rooms, it felt like you were staying at a posh friend's guestroom (which was great and I looked... More

Friendly staff. Very good location close to main sights on quiet street. Tastefully furnished compact, clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Great breakfast, one of the best we've had with excellent fresh fruit, cheese, eggs, jams and homemade breads. Only one minor caveat for people who have mobility problems as there is no lift.

Great hotel staff. Always friendly and helpful. Nice and plentiful breakfast with the best figs I have ever eaten. The hotel is hidden away on a quiet side street, but within 10 minutes walk to the Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Bazaar. Nice and clean room with a good shower and air condition. We will be staying there... More

First the good points : I think that Minel Hotel is basically a good choice for travellers to Istanbul who wants a nice clean room, friendly staff and reasonable prices. The rooms are quite small and there is barely room for luggage, but it is my impression that this is the standard for hotels in Istanbul, so I won't hold... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
