We stayed over Easter for 5 days and it was a great experience. The rooms are exactly as shown on the pics if not better and Marta was very helpful throughout our stay! Great location in a very quiet street and in an ideal area for going out or sight seeing !

I stayed in this place with my family for over a week. Service is outstanding. Martha is very helpful and will make your stay smooth and easy. She pointed out to great places to eat as she did with better ways to get to some of Istanbul' highlights. The rooms are like small studios with great privacy and excellent decor,...

Host was wonderful and responsive to our needs. Location was perfect. Very cute and comfortable living space. Small but very sweet. Bed was very comfortable and the view beautiful. Note that if you are not in decent physical shape the climb up the stairs and the climb into the loft might be a challenge.

We book-ended our South Turkey sailing trip by staying 4 nights either side in Istanbul. Rooms Galata is a rare find. An intelligent and stylishly renovated old apartment block in the heart of a 19th century residential suburb. Great location to be based to explore all parts of the city, by foot, train, or taxi. Lots of places to eat...

This was our first overseas holiday as a family. Rooms galata suggested we stay in their flat situated around the corner from the hotel as it was more spacious and would accommodate ourselves, our 12 year old son and our 23 year old son. The location was fantastic..50 m from the Galata tower and in the most amazing neighbourhood. The...

Very warm Welcome, very helpful staff, very comfortable beds, very nicely renovated old builing, very steep but short hill (there are lots of hills in Istanbul) very closed to Istklâl Caddesi (shopping street between Taksim Square and Tünel). We loved the pleace and the people who own it.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

“Apartment building has no elevator. You may climb up to 6 flights of stairs to access your apartment. Some apartments have balconies and access to a small walled garden, but not the small studio apartments. I had difficulty with some of my appliances (microwave didn't always work), but these were quickly replaced or repaired for me. No coffee maker. Otherwise the kitchen was well-equipped, with sharp knives, pots and pans.”
