Location wise this hotel is one of the best. The money for value is great. Stuffs are very helpful. They have a nice and home like breakfast. Rooms are bit tight but when you will find the location you will just love it. In a city like istanbul its wise to check the locations altitude before choosing a hotel.

For the money, this place is great... location is steps from attractions and the included breakfast was super. Rooms and beds are a little small, but I still give e it 5 sta r s due to the friendly and helpful manager, Kursad. Tram runs right by front door. Try it, you'll like it. Super value.

It is centrally located between all the major sites of Sultanahmet/Old City area. The tram station (Gulhane) is nearby and you have shops on either sides of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They helped me in figuring out prices and how to get around easily without spending much. The rooms were clean with all the basic...

This hotel may not be a five-star hotel, but it is right on the street car line and very conveniently located in the Sultanahmet area with Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar and much more very near by. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave me lots of good advice on...

We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights and days, the rooms were clean, staff was incredibly friendly, food was delicious, location was excellent. The only problem was the shower head and the tap, one was clogged, the other was dripping unless you shut it with incredible force. Beware that the managers of the hotel are really stingy, they don't...

I only stayed for a few hours due to other commitments, not because the hotel was bad. be prepared for steep stairs, no lift and traffic noise, especially the trams, even when on the top floor. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good location for sightseeing in the city.

I stayed at Merih 2 Hotel for two nights with the price 50 euro / night for single room, on this September. The room was quite small, but it's clean. But, I was a little bit unsatisfied when one day, i left my room at 11 am, and when i came back in the afternoon, my room was not cleaned...

I have been to Istanbul 18 times sight seeing and sometimes transfer. 5 or 4 star hotels are far from main sight seeing area. So I suggest you to stay a hotel in old town. I believe this hotel is one of few cleanest hotels in old town area. Air conditionars here work perfectly. I have stayed here comfortable. You can...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
