You can really trust the very good rates on tripadvisor and booking.com! The hotel with its central location and its very nice staff was perfect for our weekend trip to Istanbul. We had a 3 bedroom and shared the bathroom with another room, it was always clean.

Portus house is a very nice little hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are nicely devorated and the bathroom facilities are great. Portus house is in a really cool neighbourhood. Galata tower and istiklal street are close and the tram station also. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to everyone.

This hotel is in a great part of Istanbul--tonnes of cute cafes everywhere, Gulluoglu (the best Baklava) and the port. You can also easily walk across the bridge to Sultenahmet area or walk up to Istiklal for some shopping. The tram stop isn't far, which can take you to Besiktas, Ortakoy, Dolmabahce palace or other ports. The port that is...

We booked this hotel after an advice from a friend. Unfortunately in the end due to personal issues we couldn't make it to go to istanbul. I found Portus way to deal the matter very professional, polite and comprehensive. Thank you again for your service and your understanding. I really wish you the best.

This place is a little gem. Yes, it's rather unconventional - basically a few rooms in a restored vintage building. But the whole thing is absolutely adorable. The location can't be beat if you like the fairly hip new port area. The details are impeccable, these guys really put some thought into the design of their property. And the service,...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was cozy and well equipped. Centrally location means that getting around to all the sites is easy and there's plenty of cafes and restaurants around the hotel. And also an appropriate price for such a nice place!

I had to cancel my trip due to outside circumstances. But I was very impressed with the friendly, responsive, and completely understanding interactions I had with the hotel staff every step of the way.

I was very pleased with my stay at this guest house. The décor was very trendy, in good condition and extremely clean. My room was lovely, although it was a little bit cold despite two duvets. I was thrilled to have free branded slippers; bottled water and Turkish delights in my room on arrival. Lufti was extremely welcoming and friendly...

Me and my friends stayed here for 3 nights. We had few issues with our flight online checkins, we had few doubts about a spa and my smartphone broke and the staff of portus house helped us with great kindness in every occasion. Being in the galata tower area made us discover a whole new Istanbul, so warmly advised for...

Staying in Karakoy

Neighbourhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
