Small hotel in a good location within the old town. Excellent value for money. About a 5 minute walk to Sultanahmet Square and 10 minutes to the Grand Bazaar. There's a small shop across the street that's really handy for water and snacks and a decent selection of restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The staff were helpful and...

I was searching for another property and stopped into a local coffee shop where I was referred to the Siesta Hotel. I'm so happy for the tip. It's practically a new property so everything worked, was spotless, bright, and clean. A wonderful bed with good linens made the night very comfortable. The view of little Sofia Hagia and the small...

We booked a twin room months in advance but arrived to a family room and told that is all they had and we would be moved the next day. They seemed to think we should be grateful to experience the big room but we were annoyed that we couldn't relax and unpack yet. The next day they moved us to...

I had 2 electronic devices in my computer bag which I never unzipped the entire time I was in Istanbul. The bag was only out of my possession when it was in the hotel. When I arrived in Berlin upon leaving Istanbul, I noticed both electronic devices were missing from my bag. I contacted the hotel immediately and they stated...

This is a small hotel in walking distance to all the big sights in the Sultan Ahmet area. It only takes 5 min to walk to The Blue Mosque, where there is a tremendous amount of noise from traffic and people, and yet the area of this place is absolutely peaceful, except during prayer time, as there is small mosque...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
