I'd definitely stay here again - 4 Plus. Our tiny, double room was new and lovely - the only problem was total lack of suitcase space. Best planned tiny bathroom I have ever seen. Very comfortable bed, but I'd like a top-sheet/duvet. Dust bunnies under the bed and not a bright room - neither was a problem. We asked a...

The hotel is eh okay, location is great, but there are countless hotels in that area too...breakfast is absolutely horrible, has nothing to do with Turkish breakfast, all canned stuff and never anything fresh, very disappointing. Cleanliness is okay but not great. They really need to teach their ouskeepers manners.. A housekeeper knocked at my door because I had mentioned...

Stayed here for 2 nights and as other reviewers have commented, this hotel is very centrally located within all the famous sights in Sultanahmet. Room was spacious and has good facilities such as mini bar, spacious shower room and free wifi. Staff was welcoming and spoke good English. Special thanks to Jamal (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) for...

This hotel is in a Super location for getting around Istanbul, a few minutes from all the main tourist attractions and two minutes from the tram station to take you further afield, many hotels in this area due to narrow cobbled street are difficult to find however as the tram runs through the main areas of Istanbul it's very easy...

This hotel is wonderful, from the staff to the facilities along with a free breakfast. I will be returning and staying here again! The hotel is modern with LED TV's and WI_FI on all floors. Staffed helped us secure tours from the hotel that were reasonable priced. Also, they offer a free pickup at the airport to their hotel.

Small but excellent hotel close to all city attractions, staff were fantastic and very helpful. Cannot fault the hotel or its staff, easy to recommend to anyone. Would we stay there again, of course we would.

I had a 7 night stay at the Hotel Perula, booked less than a week before the trip through Hotels.com. It was a nice location, close to the Blue Mosque and the tram station, just a few blocks away. The room was clean, but a bit small, but to be expected. Breakfast was good, although there wasn't too much of...

I recently helped organize travel for a group of Rotarians who were headed to Africa to do a volunteer service project. Routing our flight via Istanbul was an option and having visited there before and having stayed at the Perula Hotel it was the perfect stopover choice. Turkey is a very special destination and the Perula Hotel is the place...

I arrived in Istanbul with a group of university students from Switzerland during the height of the protests at Taksim Square. Some of the parents of the students were a bit anxious. The hotel staff welcomed us like members of the family. They organized excursions and made traveling as a group very easy by calling taxis, recommending restaurants, allowing us...

Clean comfortable rooms but they are very small compared to large chain hotels such as Sheraton, Hilton or Marriott. The staff were great! they were very friendly and were very helpful with directions, suggestions and with making arrangements. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the historic Istanbul district. Easy walking distance to the top sight seeing...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“We were in room 104--it was small but just fine for the two of us, quiet, not really a view but we did have a window (& were really on in the room at night), had great AirCon. I also liked that it was not right at the lift so we never heard anything from there while we were in our room either. Also, I appreciated that they offered to change our room, occupancy permitting, if we happened not to like it. But, as I said, it was very nice, quiet & just fine for us! They do have bigger rooms for families etc.”
