I stayed in this hotel from June 5th for six nights, travelling alone. This is a nice small hotel with less than twenty rooms in old Istanbul. I could --walk-- to historic sites, mosques, and bazaars. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed was nice and firm, a/c worked well same as hot shower. Room was a bit...

We stayed here for 5 straight nights, then came back for 2 more before we left Turkey. The rooms where fairly big for the area, probably between 20-25 sq meters. They were very clean, had nice hardwood floors, the beds were nice and like all beds in Turkey, firm! The staff was friendly, Varol helped us with a number of...

Stayed here 4/27-29/13 for a few of sight seeing. Accommodations were adequate, certainly nothing special with small rooms not much larger than the bed and bathrooms too small to comfortably change clothes in, though all facilities were well maintained and clean. Location was good in relation to major Sultanahmet sights, the surrounding neighborhood was fair - of course it got...

This is a cute small hotel in the center of Sultanahmet and 5 min walk from Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the archaeological museum, and many beautiful walls from the Roman times. It is amazing to walk and see how is the merge of several civilizations. The hotel is very conveniently located to traditional local restaurants and Tram facilities. I...

The Sultanahmet Cesme Hotel is a five minute walk from the Hippodrome/Blue Mosque area and is a great bargain. The rooms are spotless, the bathroom was very modern (loved the big showerhead!), and the breakfast terrace had a view of the Sea of Marmara. The men working the front desk were helpful and kind, and I felt perfectly comfortable in...

We were vacationing with a girlfriend from 15 February to 20 February 2013. We liked the location of the hotel as it is situated in the historic area of the city Istanbul. In hotel very warm and homely atmosphere in this hotel. Service outdoes himself. The hotel has a terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. I plan to...

Stayed in a reasonably spacious triple room on the top floor. The room and bathroom were clean, beds were comfy. As the other reviewers pointed, the breakfast was the same everyday, but plenty of choices, though! The Reception stuff were helpful and promptly solved every requirement we had (arranging airport transfer, issuing invoices).

The staff at the Sultanahmet Cesme Hotel are so nice. Great location. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Well worth the price. The hotel driver even drove us to restaurants that he recommended. I would certainly go back. This little place is great.

Hotel personnel was helpful and kind. Breakfast a little bit boring - same food all the time. If you have a room on the street side, traffic noise does not let you sleep in the morning. Did not clean the room all week, only changed towels... Everything else - great. Heating, A/C, Wi-fi, good location, english speaking personnel.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
