I can only vouch for the triple room we stayed in, absolutely loved having the big huge private terrace overlooking the sea. Having the train thunder by underneath us once in awhile only added to the life and character that Istanbul offers, and it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was the common fare for many Turkish hotels, loved being... More

We stayed in the Daisy Hotel in May last year. It looked lovely on Trip Advisor and the few reviews were good. A hotel that was not a budget option, medium priced, quaint, in the old quarter with sea views and attractive rooms. It was in fact a tiny pension with no public rooms. The three bedrooms were tiny, damp,... More

We booked our trip to Istanbul and Daisy Hotel about 6 months before travelling there in October 2011. We'd read other reviews on this site and were concerned about people arriving and being told that there was no booking for them so emailed a few weeks in advance and were ensured that everything was ok with our booking. On arrival... More

I booked a room with sea view 2 months before my planned trip to Istanbul and frankly this was the main reason I chose to stay there(balcony and sea view). When we arrived there the owner Aziz told us that he didn’t have a room like the one I booked even though I had confirm it 5 days prior to... More

This hotel was ideally situated in the old town and had room for 4 which was the initial number in our party. However, once there, it was not an ideal place to stay. It is NOT a hotel. It is a 5 bed room guest house. Aziz speaks English as does one other member of the help, but the maid/morning... More

First of all, Daisy is not an Hotel but an awfull B&B. When I decided to book it I did it because I read fantastic reviews and saw delightful pictures. Probably both manipulated. When I arrived in Istanbul, the owners told me that owing to an overbooking they would have to accommodate me and my family for a night in... More

We stayed in this hotel in july 2011, and we had a fantastic time. Istanbul is a great city, and the hotel is very centrally located, very close to public transport. The hotel is very new, well furnished and the staff is great. Fantastical view from balcony

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Communicate by email before your arrival as they are not always at the pension. They offer a shuttle service from airport which can be arranged ahead of time by email. We travelled by metro from the airport getting off at the Sultanahmet station, a bit of a walk with luggage and a little help with directions along the way but all part of the adventure!”
