I am reviewing this knowing this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. It is not a chain. It is a local hotel in a good location intended for people who just need a place to sleep and spend their time outside enjoying Istanbul. Based on booking.com’s photos and reviews, we thought it would be a decent place for...

I stayed at luxx hotel 5 times and I think it's a good hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. Also they assisted us with everything. We asked all our questions and they answered all. Especially the location was perfect. You can walk to all touristic places and public transport is accessible easily. I can recommend...

I feel really bad about giving a bad review, but I booked this based on reviews from booking.com and was expecting a good hotel. Cons: We checked in and were shown to our room which was very dim and not well lit. I asked three times before they put in more light bulbs in the light fixture. The mattresses are...

We, my wife, 3 young daughters and my wife's disabled sister arrived late on Thursday night due to a delayed flight and upon meeting the duty manager we were told our booking had been cancelled when we had email confirmation that the booking had gone through. We were offered 1 night stay at a local hotel that the Luxx say...

Ok guys. This place is scary, dirty, smelly, creepy and nothing works. Me and fiancée decided to leave halfway through our stay and to loose 75 euros. Breakfast is disgusting and it made sick and ready to leave right away. We couldn't take it any more, it was the worst place ever. Made us feel sad and worried all the...

We were two couples in a trip. They gave us two rooms. One room was ok until we found out that had a infestation with ants and the hot water only worked for one person. The second room - nr 111 - was the worst we have ever seen. The entry was filthy, it as a room in front of...

I have to report my terrible experience in Luxx hotel. Hotel manager welcomed me with his friendly all smiles. But the room that he provided me had a HOLE on the wall !! When I stepped into the room for the first time, I didn't realized that HOLE. Because that HOLE was hidden behind a curtain. While I was away...

I booked The Luxx Hotel from Mar 31 - April 4 2015. I showed up and the manager told me that my reservation was cancelled. I did not cancelled the reservation. It was cancelled by the hotel manager. He then offer us a much smaller room and twice as much in price knowing that we are stranded. Do not trust...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
