it is an amazing place to stay in, specially that everyone is treating you so well, and caring about you and your things... find a so good kitchen fully one, you get what you want from machines.. so close to the important places in Istanbul... rail-way from ataturk airport to here you will never regret that you booked here.

I stayed for a few days, and it was the best choice I could do. The staff was for me like a new family members I found in Turkey. Everything was perfect. I will return for sure. All the best for you, my lovely team, special (by alphabetical order) Birol, Elif, Ersin and Muratcan. A big hug from Barcelona, Rui

I stayed in this hostel in june and was one of the first guests after it opened. I was travelling alone and found the owners to be friendly and helpful in guiding me on what to do during my short stay. The atmosphere is very laid back and the hostel itself is really interesting with all the art works on...

Thanks to Sumocat Hostel and its stuff we had a wonderful, relaxing time in Istanbul. The brandnew, lovely made up (see the wall paintings on the pics) hostel is located in a calm street near the Istikalstreet - the heart of modern Istanbul. We were two girls travelling on our own and we felt in every time secure coming home...

I had high hopes for Sumo Cat but was very disappointed. The hostel is very small, as are the rooms. There is no real communal space and that space there is dark and unfinished. The ensuite toilet did not have an extractor fan and after a shower it started to stink. As a result the bedroom stank too. We were...

This place was a rip off at 50 euros for a double room, you'll get much better value in other hostels in Beyoglu or hotels in Sultanahmet. This was the last placed we stay in our three week trip of Turkey and we were sorely disappointed. We chose Sumo Cat because of the excellent reviews it received on trip advisor...

If you desıre a quıet spot ın the mıddle of Old Cıty Istanbul that you can get to anywhere else ın moments, look no further. Good rates, a lıttle dıffıcult to fınd ınıtıally but once your there ıt ıs easy to manuever anywhere else ın the cıty and beyond.

Stayed here just for the night, and wish I had been there for longer. It had only been open 3 weeks, and the place was spotless. Great value as well, and I had a 4 bed dorm to myself. The small bathrooms were immaculate too. Funky murals on the walls, a friendly courtyard to watch the world cup matches on,...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
