Like the feel of the place. Good place to relax after walking the neighborhood. Cake tasty but a bit dry. Sit in the window if you can and people watch. Ideal location. I enjoyed my latte and sat on the sofa for a good 30min. Nice break overall....

[Restaurant] Orders taken twice. Drinks came 20 minutes, food 30 minutes late. Only 3 guests at basement, not too sure of the terrace though. When prompted on the lateness, we were told that the turkish noodles were unavailable, and the cook went out to purchase them. Food was ok. Managed to finish, due to being too hungry. All in all,...

We stayed in a close by hotel... and walked into Galata Life for lunch hours before our return flight back to the UK. The food is home made, very authentic and superb on all fronts. After a week full of bad dinner and lunch experiences, Galata Life restored our faith in Turkish Cuisine. Our only regret is not finding out...

My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights here in September--the Galata Tower area has a pretty vibrant night life and can get loud at night, so book a room toward the back of the hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating, the rooftop terrace and cafe/breakfast area are especially nice. Bathroom is quite small, but worked out just fine....

I spent 4 nights in Galata Life with my boyfriend. Due to overbooking, we were given a family room instead of the double room, obviously for the same price. The room was very large and comfortable, with a very nice bow-window and everything we needed (bed lamps, plenty of storing space, hairdryer, shower gel, television). It was spotless clean and...

Top location - close to the Galata tower, walking distance to the Bosporus, around the corner from (also alternative) bars and restaurants in the back streets. The staff was super friendly, gave us tips of where to head to at night and the chef presented us proudly with his home-made fig jam :) Breakfast was good, if you crave a...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
