There are good, friendly and honest staff, normal kitchen, good location, low price (readiness for discount). And there is no need to bang your head on a shelf above the sink, when tilted during washing your face - like in Rose Hotel (room 105). Wireless in room is poor. Cleanliness and neatness of the interior, too.

It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures on the website are not of the hotel, none of the rooms look remotely close to the pictures. The rooms are tiny, damp and smell really bad and nothing works in the room. The staff are very unhelpful . They want money upfront before seeing your room, once...

I can't express how truly awful this place is. The pictures on the website are completely false. Trust the photos of theyre dodgy rooms shown on the tripadvisor website. On arrival we told the man who claims to be the manager that we had a reservation. He had to phone someone else to confirm. He then hassled us for money...

The worst hotel we have been in our round world trip since february. Missing things in the breakfast, broken shower, very old towels and the bed seems like a stone; it's so old that we could feel the springs in our back. Please check the pictures from the other reviews !! The pics from the web site aren't true. Danilo...

We have booked the well-rated Hotel DOGU EXPRESS - but they say those hotels are together .... hotel EMMA SARAY ... dont go there ... you need a place in istanbul where you can rest - the city ist stressful -... the manager (?) wanted the money before we saw the room - 2 minutes later we knew why ;)...

The only thing "boutique" about this place is that "boutique" is correctly spelled in its title. (Seriously: I have stayed in far better places in Nepal and Tibet.) There were ants in our room and my bed; there was very litle space to pass each other between three beds; no place to put luggage; Internet connection in our room was...

We arrived mid evening with a reservation. Were told they were full but they could arrange for us to stay over the road. A very heated "discussion" took place between the two managers in which we were virtually ignored but eventually given a room. The second hotel was fine but newly renovated and not quite organised. The next morning it...

Firstly, the hotel is extremely over priced and does not reflect its star rating. My friends and I booked to stay at the Emmasaray, which is where we checked in on the night we arrived. However, we were then taken to another hotel around the corner that was essentially a building site and unsafe for guests to stay. The place...

Never, ever think about going to this extremely bad "hotel". Arriving in the shabby lobby was a bad start; the place had a bad smell, look and vibe. The room was not finished (4 p.m.) so we had to wait 25 minutes. When we finally entered our room it was a place where you don't even want your dog to...

I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and well decorated, while the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Unlike other travellers I found my bathroom to be very clean. A major plus for this hotel is also its location. It is conveniently situated walking distance from major tourist attractions such as the Hagia Sofia,...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
