Nice boutique hotel located 500m behind the Blue Mosque and close to many other attractions. My room was on the ground floor and was tastefuly decorated although I found the bathroom quite small with little room to put your toilettries bag and to plug in a toothbrush. While there was no traffic noise at night the walls are quite thin...

Our city break to Istanbul started with a cancelled flight due to fog, so when we eventually arrived at the Amira 5 hours late, we were pretty tired. So, a very warm welcome at the hotel by the manager, concierge and receptionist made such a difference. A lovely cosy, personal feel extended to our rooms. I was in #502, a...

This hotel is a small boutique hotel located in sultanahmet down the hill from the blue mosque. It is in a great location to all the tourist attractions. The water is a three minute walk. The light rail is a 5 minute walk and all the main tourist places (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Cisterns, Hippodrome, Archeological Museum) are...

A gem of a hotel - well appointed in the Sultanahmet district, within easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Palace, metro, tram and a selection of restaurants. Lovely deluxe rooms - spacious, well decorated, good views with balcony and nice little touches like complimentary tea/coffee, water (including bottles to take out with you each day), toiletries, dressing gowns etc....

I was taken to the Hotel Amira by some friends - for a special birthday present.....and what a present. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just within the walls of the old city - a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque and the Hagiya Sofia. We stayed for three nights and on arrival we were greeted, our bags...

We were transiting through Istanbul for 4 nights and loved our stay. We had the hotel arrange transfers which were reasonable and efficient. On arrival we were upgraded to a...

Stayed in a deluxe room for 3 nights in late March 2014. I chose this hotel due to its location and the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Booked through Expedia. The hotel is in a great location in Sultanahmet district, 5 minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque/Hippodrome. There is a mini market right across the road and plenty of restaurants in...

Stayed here for three nights, early March 2014. Very stylish hotel. The reception staff are very welcoming and took us straight into the bar for a complimentary drink while they explained about the hotel and the local area, drawing comprehensive instructions on a map. The room was beautiful. It was spotless and very stylish with a great view into the...

We enjoyed a wonderful few days in Istanbul and this was an excellent choice of hotel, from helpful staff to location and facilities. Do watch out for the taxi drivers though, they think tourists are there for filling their pension fund! Hope to return one day.

My husband and I booked this hotel due to the comments we read here on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed! The hotel is in a very good location, about 10 minutes walking from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Service is GREAT from the time you check in, when they give you an overview of all the Istanbul attractions. The...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
