We wanted a personal hotel in a great location and this was perfect. We stayed for five days but knew pretty much everyone by the second. Nothing was too much trouble and they gave advice, helped us get sorted so we could get the best form each day. The rooms really are as nice as the photos and breakfast was...

I loved every detail about Amira. From the moment you walk into Lobby with nice welcome by Adem (coolest hotel host) to the owners of the hotel. This is a real boutique hotel run by a family that really knows what hospitality means. I was planing to stay just 2 nights, but I loved it so much and stay additional...

We (husband, baby, and I) stayed at Hotel Amira for ten days in February. We had such a wonderful one in Istanbul (our first time) and the hotel staff, who we can call friends now, made the stay even better!! The rooms are clean and cozy, the atmosphere is charming. Jimmy, Adem, AJ, Emre, Aziz, Ugur, and the ones I'm...

I chose the Hotel Amira based on the glowing reports from Tripadvisor reviewers. As a woman traveling alone to Istanbul, I wanted a small hotel with friendly, English-speaking staff in a location within walking distance of major sites of interest. I was delighted to find that although the hotel is on a relatively quiet street, it is very near the...

When a delayed flight arrival into Istanbul caused a cancellation of our connecting flight to Greece, a late night call from me at the airport to Jimmy, night manager at the Amira Hotel, changed our Greek vacation to a week at the Amira Istanbul--and what a treat that turned out to be. The warm, hospitable, helpful attitude that he, Karin,...

Stayed in deluxe double room with my husband and son. We mentioned the need for a cot in the booking and it was ready and waiting for us on arrival. Staff are super friendly and very helpful with recommendations. The doormen were really helpful with taking the buggy up and down steps multiple times a day and beckoning taxis for...

This hotel is amazing. Comfortable and clean. The front desk staff are so helpful and the Turkish breakfast is delicious! Great and safe location. This was our first time to Turkey from the US and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Highly recommended!

Absolutely great location...but much more. Staff so friendly. Breakfast wonderful. We had a balcony which allowed a wonderful view and although the roof top was closed we got wonderful pictures from it. Within easy walking distance of all the major sites.(Blue mosque etc) the call to prayers is not an annoyance but a gentle reminder of where you are. We...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
