Services; at front desk was welcoming but slow at check in and out, especially slow at check in and when leaving and requesting taxi. There was always staff at front desk. Some advices and guidance from personnel was told, but not exactly informative. But worst was that when we arrived there was only one room available and we have confirmed...

My friend and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel is placed in the beautiful old city with a lot of local shops nearby. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly, polite and had the time to sit and talk with us in the lobby giving advice on what to see and do in the...

Located well, in walking distance from Major attractions such as the Blue Mosque. The hotel has a great roof top with an amazing view of the city. The rooms were clean. Awesome staff, friendly and very helpful. Omar the manager is very hospitable and helpful. A large variety for breakfast, which was very tasty. Overall a great stay and will...

My second time in Istanbul, this time as part of a twin centre holiday, this hotel was described as a 'boutique hotel' on by my tour operator Direct Traveller. More accurately it is a 'budget hotel' and as such, the rooms are small, and the facilities basic. That aside, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the breakfast area and...

The staff are wonderful, the breakfast (free) is terrific, the rooms are small and the plumbing (like most plumbing in Turkey), is "iffy". Our room was tiny, but had a nice balcony overlooking the water. The A/C was temperamental so the nights were rather warm. However, the price was right and the hotel was with easy walking distance of downtown....

We recently stayed at this hotel after staying in a five star hotel in Antalya (where the service was atrocious) it was nice to be greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. When we arrived there was an issue with our allocated room but the hotel made alternative arrangements (by booking us a room at a nearby hotel for one night),...

The hotel is well located – within a 10 minute walk to Sultanahmet where the main sights of the old city are located. The staff are very friendly and approachable. The breakfast has a good selection of breads, meats, fruits, salads, cheeses, jam etc. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen provided. The roof terrace provides a...

We arrived here on the first leg a multiple stop trip of Turkey. The first impression is that the hotel is decent enough for what we paid for it and it was also clean enough. The main issue we had was that the safe in our room did not work and we had quite a bit of money on us...

Very friendly staff and great views of the rooftops and the sea of Marmara. Excellent breakfast buffet and garden terrace. 5 minutes walk from tramway and 10 minutes walk from the Sultan Ahmet Square with some of the main sights. Set in the old narrow city streets which were amazingly quiet. We would go back.

I stayed at this hotel for about 8 days this month. Let's get to the pros: the hotel is nicely located, reasonably priced, good breakfast and very helpful staff. They had a nice terrace on the top where you could enjoy your evenings or have a nice coffee at night. These services were all complimentary. Our room had the sea...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
