We booked this hotel by mistake. Not much to say except 'don't do it' unless you are really a budget traveller, then it might be a good option. It's in an excellent location and the rooms are pretty basic. The restaurant downstairs has reasonable food at a price to match. The best thing about the hotel is Gokhan the manager...

I booked two triple rooms for six of us staying for a few nights in Istanbul. However when we arrived we had all been put into one room. They had clearly seen a chance to make some extra money as the rooms were booked together and changed a room clearly designed for 3 people into a room for 6 people....

We stayed at the hotel for one week. The hotel itself is in a great location. It took around 3-5 mins to walk to the blue mosque, and sultanhamet park. It is also very close to the arasta bazaar which is a nice place for shopping. The hotel itself was clean and our room was cleaned everyday and the bathroom...

Clean comfy hotel, friendly staff, ideal location, 24hr reception. Like another reviewer I was roomed over the road in their other hotel for the first night due to overbooking (happens when hotels are listed on several booking sites). The first hotel was good, and the next day I was given a large suite overlooking the main drag outside. Room very...

If you are in Istanbul to see its famous historical old city Sultanahmet, then this hotel is just for you. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are just around the corner. The street, where the hotel is situated, looks very nice and is packed with restaurants and souvenir shops. But be aware that this is a very touristic area so everything...

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and found it to be excellent. Great location with all major attractions within walking distance. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and the showers were great. Not suitable for families with very young children and for disabled and elderly due to the steep stairs. The rooms at the front have balconies...

The 1st night when I arrived there, I had a reservation but the hotel was full so they bumped me to another hotel located directly across the street to stay for 1 night. However, the manager promised to put me in a suite for the same price as a budget room for my remaining 3 nights. I wondered if he...

Basic room, moved after first night as air conditionong unit dripping water into the room. Second room was clean and shower was amazing drench variety. Breakfast was typical Turkish breakfast. It was very cheap and as such couldn't expect more.probably wouldn't go back when we go to Istanbul again.

For one week I enjoyed helpful and friendly staff, service, location & terrace. All rooms were perfectly organized, clean and pleasant. Location is the most comfortable one. It took just few steps to get to Blue Mosque, Ayasofya, Hippodrom, Topkapi palace etc. Deserves all 5 stars! Totally recomend this hotel for staying at!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
