This hotel is located, quite literally, a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque. Granted, you need to walk three blocks to get to it because you have to navigate the streets going uphill. My room was small, but it had all the amenities I needed. I didn't miss the extra space. The breakfast buffet is very good. My highest praises...

We had great time in this historic and very nicely renovated hotel in Sultanahmet. The service at the hotel was excellent and the room was spotless clean. The hotel staff was very welcoming and kind. The location was also perfect to explore the city. In addition to all these good features they could give turndown service.

All previous reviews stating friendliness of staff are correct. The staff has zero attitude, are very helpful and friendly. This is not a luxury hotel and you shouldn't expect the standard "mod cons" of modern hotels. It is a very old wooden building that has been renovated and so has its quirks. For example the only power outlet in my...

Thanks to Darussaade that made our stay in Istanbul fantastic. The perfect location in the heart of Sultanahmet, close to all major attractions. Friendly staff ready to help you with anything. Clean and comfy rooms with a great Turkish breakfast. Whatelse should we ask more? I would recommend to any friends with no hesitation.

Cost data : GBP 65 (TL 251 ) per room per night incl breakfast, (4 nights Wed to Sun). We chose this hotel because of it's Trip Advisor rating - not stayed in a hotel in Istanbul before. I was not disappointed. This is a 'Special License' hotel which means it is a converted Ottoman House and plays to it's...

We stayed in this hotel for a week, and we really enjoyed our stay! Helpful reception staff, very good location and excellent breakfast buffet. Great old style boutique hotel. Each room decorated differently. We stayed Pasha Room, think this one is the luxury one. It has its own turkish bath inside. Strongly suggest. Staff were very polite. Breakfast was magnificent. Hotel was very close to all important spots in sultanahmet region. We walked all the time.

A good hotel in a nice quiet location, very convenient to major attractions. Very helpful staff. When walking out at night we felt very safe and soon developed a rapour with the local restaurants and shops. Would not hesitate to use the Darussaade when next in Istanbul

My wife and I stayed here for a week. We loved the location and the very helpful front desk. The front desk, especially Ergin Akar, were always there to help and offer good advice. The location puts you right next to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Plus all the other major attractions in the area are well within walking...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
