GREAT location near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia areas; less than 5 minutes and you are there! Clean room, helpful staff, nice breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Very pleased with grand peninsula hotel. Very reasonable price, great breakfast with good variety of food options in nice rooftop eating area. Location was perfect, very close to main sites, but a few blocks off the main streets so quiet. Can be hard to find first time there, but everything in Istanbul can be hard to find. Front desk staff...

Great hotel .Central location but not noisy.Very clean and the staff were really friendly, giving some very helpful advise about things to see and do in the city outiside the usual tourist haunts.Breakfast was on the roof terrace, Turkish in style and plentiful in quantity. We were on the top floor[.No lift in the hotel which didn't worry us but this...

The hotel is newly renovated and clean. The location is good and luckily on a quiet dead-end street. The staff were super friendly. The breakfast on the roof-top terrace was a great way to start the day.

This hotel is tucked down a hill from a great eating street, right in the midst of Sultanmat. reasonably close to the Blue Mosque. The two people at the reception were both eager to help. They told us which restaurants to use, booked us with a bus trip that took us to lots of part of Istanbul. The room we...

The front office guy on the afternoon of 11th June 2014 was amazing. Was able to guide us through a lots of our queries on local amenities & attractions in much needed details. Great Location right at the quiet corner near restaurants/bars, and 10 min walk to Hagia Sophia. The hotel might be difficult to access for wheelchair/handicaps though.

SIX months ago I carefully planned and booked our trip to Turkey ending with three nights in the Grand Peninsula. On arrival , to my dismay we were allocated a basement room.cramped and noisy outside with people on the pavement and a view of a wall..noisy inside as every time someone uses water/flushes toilet it gushes through the pipes on...

Like other reviews on this hotel we loved it. The location is excellent. The staff are excellent. The service is excellent. We booked a standard double room and were upgraded to a large double room. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom makes very good use of a typically small European hotel bathroom. Nothing was ever too much trouble for...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
