We booked this hotel after reading other reviews on it. I have stayed in other budget hotels in Istanbul before with more higher standards and quality. This hotel says its a boutique hotel. I would disagree. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the tram stop...

This hotel was my first introduction to Turkey, as I had 2 weeks traveling around the country. From the moment I arrived, I was completely happy. I really loved the feel of the hotel, it was warm and cozy and felt like home. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and always steered me in the right direction, which I...

This is a small boutique hotel but there is an elevator which you don't have to worry about carrying large luggage. The location is very convenient as well, everything is within walking distance, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia or the market, and you can find restaurants everywhere nearby. It's also close to the Sultanahmet Station.

Checked-in here by chance for 2 days between March 20-22, 2016. Never expected how well the service and the breakfast because of the budgeted room rate. Although location is not within the main street of Sultanahmet, every tourist attraction sites are walkable by a minute. The triple room that has been assigned to us is spacious enough. Bathroom is well...

I have stayed at the Alaaddin Hotel a few times and every time it was great. You could not beat the location with being so close to all the main attractions like the Aya Sofya and Sultanahmet Mosque. There is also a rooftop terrace with great view of the city. The staff was all so friendly and always helpful. The...

like so many other ppl before us, it took us a while to find it, but once there there was nothing we could complain about. We had a tiny problem with the toilet flush, which was fixed right away. Rooms are small, but that didn't bother us, as we spend only one night there and were most of our stay...

Pros: The first best thing that comes to mind when recalling our 3 nights stay here is the location. If you like walking around the city and absorb all the flavors, yet be very near safe areas and easy transportation, eateries and tourist spots, this hotel is placed very well. Located a stone's throw from all the major attractions in...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
