Great location, even the small sreet itself where the hotel is located. Friendly staff, nice breakfast. The rooms are small, but they are very clean. "Home away from home". It's always great to come back to Istanbul !

Great location...actually Excellent. We payed about 50usd per night in the summer. Hard to find. Rooms slightly musty with tiny bathrooms. A bit hard to find at first. Love Istanbul!

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Taksim. The rooms were small but nicely furnished. Staff was fairly friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean.

The hotel is valuable for its price, the location is perfect , two or three blocks to istiklal Street and about 3-4 minuets walk to taksim square , the staff were very friendly , breakfast was good, and room and bathroom were clean , in general I recommend this Hotel . The only disadvantages are the small size of the...

I spent one day and a half in the Hotel Residence at january 2012. It is a 3 stars hotel with a good service from the reception and close to a huge amount of shops and restaurants. As it was new years eve there was a lot of noise in the street but someone can go to the airport and...

The hotel has good location near Istiklal close to Taksim square, really good value for money. Cons: Noise from outside and from the corridor (earplugs was really helpfull), WiFI is slow, It was not allowed to invite my local friend to the room, what was very strange (the receptionist was very impolite talking about it).

For the price, Hotel Residence deserves 5 solid stars. Room was very modern (yet small), all facilities were spotless, and there was even free wifi. Breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and full of options. We stayed here nearly 2 weeks and didn't tire of it ( I noticed some other reviewers said it got old, but I don't know how...

For my second time in Istanbul , I chose to stay around the Taxim area in order to explore the modern part of the city. Hotel Residence was a perfect choice!! Just off Istiklal avenue, a few blocks away from Taxim square. The hotel's rooms are nicely furbished ,rather small , but since I was a solo traveler I was...

If you are expecting any kind of luxury from the Hotel Residence, then this place is not for you. My overall impression of the place was that it was in need of a bit of a refurb. For example, in the bathroom the sink needed resealing and some of the wiring was visible, the aircon worked well - but looked...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
