Welcome to Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus. On the European bank of the Bosphorus – which flows through Istanbul’s history and heart – Four Seasons gives a 19th-century palace a fresh, eclectic spirit. Alluring facilities include a chic urban spa. Fine restaurants and pools by the quayside overlook the Asian shore. And all are awash in the light, space and excitement of this water’s-edge location.

In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.

Great location on the Bosporus with stunning views. Very nicely designed rooms. Hotel has every possible amenity, including the best hotel gym I have ever seen and a very nice spa. Best part of the hotel is the staff and service which was top notch, and possibly the best service

Grand palace style hotel by the bospborus. Best water view of the city. Having drinks and shisha at the terrace is as romantic experience as you can possible get! Get a room facing the water if possible, if not, pick a courtyard facing room at higher floor.

We moved to the hotel after a fairly rubbish stay at our original hotel, 10 Karaköy, after visiting for lunch and being overawed by the fantastic friendly and personable service. My partner was having a surgical procedure in the city so needed a peaceful, private and personable

Are walk-in's welcome for lets say lunch? Or coffee and pastries at Aqua Restaurant?
Yes, it's no problem. Many locals do so.

Is it family friendly?
We have also been treated well as family with kids at all Four Seasons. They will make sure your kids are looked after and entertained. Bosphorus property has outside and inside pools, large spa and fitness centre and is large property. However, there is not a lot nearby as far as tourist destinations. Busy street and terrible traffic. Sultanahmet property is much smaller property but beautiful rooftop but without pool and has small fitness room....but right next to Haggia Sophia and Blue Mosque and only 10-15 minute walk to Grand Bazaar. Lots of shops and restaurants near hotel. So it's depends on whether you want leisurely poolside vacation (then pick Bosphorus) or sight seeing and walking (Sultanahmet). Either way, kids will be welcomed and treated like guests. Thanks. LIndsay
