This hotel is ideally located in the heart of the historical Sultan Ahmet which is where all the main attractions are. It is a 5 minute walk to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace Museum and the Grand Bazar. Bus and tram stops are also within walking distance. The hotel is decent and the rooms service is exceptional. The staff...

The hotel is at an ideal location in the city. It is walking distance from all main tourist attractions, including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and Tokpkapi Palace. Public transportation was also very close by. Hotel staff was very hospitable and helpful when it came to planning each day. The hotel itself was kept clean and cozy. The...

Great location, comfortable room and excellent hotel services. The hotel is located a turn away from the heart of Sultan Ahmet where most of the must see historical places are located (about 5-10 minutes walk). Namely the Blue Mosque and Ayasophia. Tram service also available to get you around hassle free! The concierge was kind enough to assist us in...

Have stayed here 5 times now. It is always enjoyable. The 5th floor is a breakfast room and also restaurant with a terrific panoramic view. The corner rooms are a little larger for longer stays. It is well located in Sultanahmet.

We visited Istanbul for the first time. We had no idea about which hotel to book. We booked this hotel at Istanbul simply because Rick Steve's book on Istanbul recommended it. We're so glad we did. We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is located in walking distance from every tourist attraction. That itself makes it a great value. The...

This is a very nice hotel in the best part of the old town. It is within walking distance to all the attractions, but also quiet. The staff is to be mentioned: they are very well mannered, very well meaning and want to do all they can for the guests. Especially front desk staff deserves a thumbs up!!!...

The Adamar is in the best position to visit the Ayasofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern. All very interesting and not to be missed. The food in the restaurant is mainly Turkish, which is usually very spicy and quite expensive. The view from the rooftop restaurant completely makes up for the food. It's unforgetable. The best rooms are the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
