old renovated hotel very good location rooms are very big and spacious but t.v. screen too small and far from bed. carpet are smelly. in order to open the window for fresh air you need to order a special handle from the reception . breakfast is very good but bread is stale. pool was empty and massage was extremely expensive

Like most of old communism hotels, looks gothic in appearance, wide hallway is appalling. After a good night, local tour guides are always late; crying for more tips; bureaucrats and riches are to avoid as too eager to show off. The only thing to enjoy is to empathy with the majority under the wheel of time.

Grand Mir Hotel is one of the best hotels in Tashkent. Services are great , but dispite the rates, it is not like 5 star hotels in Europe. Also that's the easiest location for exchanging money (US Dollars) with Uzbekistan currency. The other places, you are not allowed to exchange. There are lot of handicrafts available at Mir Hotel gift...

The room was very clean and spacious including the bathroom. Helpful staff. The breakfast is basic but still good. The souvenir shop offers great prices with the option to bargain! I stayed there for a business trip and I would stay again.

This hotel is fairly new but looks much older then it is. The rooms were huge but the hotel in general seemed sad. Breakfast was passable. This is one of the only places in town that has an ATM Overall, stay here if you have to but if you can get some of the newer places for the same price...

My wife and I stayed for my wife's birthday. The room was dated and requires a facelift, but that is like Tashkent in general, and I suspect most hotels are probably the same. The pool area was great, though the dance music was occasionally a little distracting. We just wanted to relax by the pool but that is hardly possible...

The public areas of this hotel are excellent as is the breakfast. However the rooms are dated and require complete refurbishment. The rooms are very big, dim and windows do not open. They can be opened by a member of staff but then there is traffic noise at the front of the hotel. The rooms at the front of the...

I booked the junior suite for a couple of weeks and std single for rest. Staff hardly speak English. Be prepare to work to work for the management: want more coffee or tea at breakfast? You literally need to shout or get it yourself. Need a glass? Try to get the staff to bring more. Need a plug to your...

My wife and I had a 10 day tour of Uzbekistan starting and finishing in Tashkent, and stayed twice overnight at the Grand Mir. The tour was very hectic, so the time we actually spent at the hotel was fairly limited. My comments are therefore limited to a degree. The hotel is quite imposing, standing on a large roundabout in...
