The four of us spent our last 2 nights here. Though at the present there are 2 rooms for guests, Ianthe - the owner - is looking into turning more rooms for guests. Though one of the rooms we were staying is a bit small, and the aircon needs a silencer, the whole ground floor is open for guests to...

We stayed with them for 3 days in the end of our trip in Sri Lanka. It was a nice lovely house with a dog and several tortoises. They don’t have any signs in a front of house. You just can ask a tuk-tuk driver to go the place where the address is shown. On the map, it looks little...

This is a perfect location - accessible to Colombo central, markets and variety of local artisan and general shops. Ianthe's a delightful host that had no time limitation on breakfast, which was amazing for those who like to sleep in, not to mention the choice of food offered. Ianthe also helped with advice on the locality, travel and pricing and...

Dont waste your time (and money) staying at one of the big hotels in Colombo. Whether you are just arriving in Sri Lanka or on your way out, this place is great. Ianthe and Rohan are very warm and friendly hosts who go out of your way to make you feel comfortable. Great breakfasts and nice rooms in a (celebrity...

We absolutely loved our stay here and found it such an oasis in Colombo. Ianthe was a wonderful host and we felt right at home. Room was comfortable and clean and the house is so beautiful, it was a highlight to stay somewhere designed by Architect Geoffrey Bawa - and it is so tastefully furnished & decorated. Loved the turtles...

De Fonseka looks, on the map, to be a little far out of the centre – but on arrival you find you are actually in the thick of things, and no armed police here, as there are all over the Fort area. The guest house is within walking distance of good shops, food and drink, the museums and the sea....

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our holiday in Sri Lanka. From getting a tuk tuk from the station I thought we were going to be too far out from the centre. Turns out it is the perfect place to be. There are lots of places to eat within strolling distance and short tuk tuk rides to...

This place is not for everybody. It is located in a very good area but the rooms, while clean, are very basic. The dog, which barks at everything that moves is a nuisance and can keep you awake when you are tired and want to sleep. Also the prices here are no longer a very good value. They are much...

Hi Larry, I think you've gotten us confused with another guest house. Mine is a very small B&B and I meet all my guests personally - and am pretty certain that you never stayed with us. What is more, you mention a website on which the prices increase frequently, which makes me think there is some confusion, as we don't...

We did not stay here so not commenting on the guest house per se. We had booked a room for 2 days 3 weeks in advance. I was told that payment would be done once we reach the guesthouse. Had chosen based on reviews here and had found the cost economical. 3 days before our trip i mailed to get...

Hi Ashish, I am so sorry for the inconvenience, and that you feel like you were "ditched at the last moment". As I explained in my email, we are a small, family run guesthouse - and like any family we sometimes have to confront emergencies. In this case my husband had to undergo emergency surgery, as a result of which...
