This is a grand hotel, with uniformed doormen, valet parking, a wide variety of restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Italian). Overall the service was very good and the rooms comfortable
- Check in was fast and friendly
- The Executive Club had cold drinks and light snacks that were high quality
- The lobby is beautiful, though the ceilings are lower than you might expect in such a high end property
- The room seemed a little dated, but the bedding was good and the pillows excellent. The mattress, while a little too firm, was still comfortable
- Rooms are quiet
- The air conditioning system worked well
- They provide a multiple head shower with intuitive controls
- The hotel does offer currency exchange, which is helpful
- The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety and food was kept at proper temperature. They do offer cooked to order eggs. Service was not great, having to flag down a waiter to get tea.

Overall a very good stay and I highly recommend

On your first time visiting the security to enter can feel rather intimidating if you’re new to the city, but fear not because once inside this is a great hotel! They offer a free shuttle to / from the airport, which takes about 40 minutes in clean traffic. Unfortunately the first transfer to the airport in a morning isn’t until 7am, but the staff can easily sort a taxi if needed.

Upon arrival I had one of the best check in experiences ever, with a chatty member of staff whose English was perfect. Despite being very early in the day he worked hard to get me a room as soon as possible which was really appreciated. All the door staff and concierge team were welcoming whenever you pass, and the lobby area was smart and impressive with plenty of seating.

My room was on the second floor, at the end of the corridor overlooking the car park and front. While this hardly made for a great view everything else in the room made up for it. It was really spacious and had ample storage space. The bed was large and comfortable, decent arm chairs, coffee table and working desk were all present, as well as hot drink facilities, iron and board, good TV and an empty fridge. The air conditioning worked well either for heat or cool air and the Wi-Fi was both fast and stable. Electric sockets as well as usb charging points were present at both sides of the bed and lighting options throughout the room were perfect.

The bathroom was equally as spacious with a huge walk in shower, although no bath. All the amenities you’d expect were present although I did note the small bottle of shower gel wasn’t refreshed during housekeeping. The shower had great power and heat and there were a good number of soft towels and gown provided.

Sleep quality was wonderful and although occasional noise could be heard through the connecting door to the adjacent room it wasn’t bothersome, and certainly nothing could be heard from outside. A large bottle of water was provided each day and the housekeeping staff were extremely friendly, wanting to do anything they could to please.

There’s a good number of restaurants, six if I recall correctly. I only tried two of them but both had great quality food, nice setting and brilliant staff. The mutton biryani was a particular favourite, and with the nearby pianist in the lobby it was a relaxing meal.

The stand out feature of the hotel has to be the staff - literally everyone was perfect, friendly, helpful and genuinely wanting to assist. Even if the room hadn’t been so great I’d still consider it again as a result, and it’s highly recommended from me!

Stayed in Marriott Islamabad which I can say was a bad experience at check-in I requested for non smoking room the guy on desk gave me smoking room as I was allergic and said later on we'll move you. When I moved inside my room had to take snap there was so much noise coming I complained several times no action they have taken . After that on my checkout day as I told them I will be checking out around 2 pm they ensured me it's updated it system . But I got called from reception someone with the name Areij called and said your room is in checkout I was so shocked that what the hell is going on I asked her that I requested late checkout but whoever she was ,,, was very rude and said it will be on 50% charges as we are running high occupancy. If you guys can't handle the things why do you commit the whole stay was a bad experience for me .

We got the worse service from the staff at this hotel. They have a bar in the basement and when I checked in, the front desk personnel gave me some kind of approval card that said I am allowed to go there. I went down with a couple of friends and the bartender never said to me directly that we have to pay cash. At the end of the night, we wanted to charge the drinks to the room and the bartender was like no, it is cash only. She was like I told the first person that came up to the bar tonight and they should have told you. I was like we were not even supposed to hang out with those people, they are not our friends, why would they tell us what you told them?

This bar is part of the hotel (since the front desk promoted it), and she was all mad at us because we were trying to pay with a credit card. We then try to use the ATM that is in the hotel lobby and the ATM didn't work. Not once did the supervisor or front office manager apologize for our inconvenience and they made it seems like it is our fault as the customer that we do not carry cash in a foreign country with us at all times. They then said we can pay with a credit card but it has to be the room service menu price which cost more. What kind of shady hotel does stuff like this? I get it, it is Pakistan, but seriously?

The rooms at this hotel are dated, some update to the deco and amenities is really needed, I would never stay at this hotel again.

The Islamabad Marriott Hotel has implemented excellent measures to thwart the spread of Covid-19. The entire staff wears masks and signs that confirm vaccination status, seating in restaurants has been modified appropriately, public spaces are sanitized regularly, and housekeeping does a very meticulous job servicing rooms. It did take a while for my room to be cleaned, each time, but the thoroughness of the job made me feel safe and secure.
The property has excellent staff, focused on customers. Vineta Dastoor (F&B Manager), Hassan Khan (Front Office Manager), Mir Hamza (Executive Lounger), Rehmat (Housekeeping), Faizan (Night Manager) and Bilal (Bell Desk), in particular, made my stay very comfortable.
I normally stay in one of the suites on the mezzanine floor but was given a margalla-view room on the fifth floor, this time. Although this room was smaller than the suites, its excellent view made it a great on for my stay, since I was traveling alone.

I have been a regular guest of the Islamabad Marriott Hotel for more than thirty-five (35) years and virtually all my stays have been great. However, my recent stay was particularly outstanding, and I suspect it may be due to the influence of the new General Manager, who seems genuinely dedicated to making the hotel even better than it has always been.

The staff at this hotel continue to impress me with their professionalism and friendliness. Aijaz (Duty Manager), Ajmal (Housekeeping), Faizan (Night Manager), Farjad (Front Office), Hina (Nadia Restaurant), Murad (Executive Lounge), Qadeer (Front Office), and Sania (Assistant Front Office Manager), in particular, went out of their way to make my experience truly positive. They are some of the best hospitality professionals I have encountered in the industry.

The food remains one of the best features of this hotel. The variety and quality of meals, especially in the Nadia Restaurant buffet and in the Executive Lounge, were exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast options, which catered to a wide range of tastes.

It was great to see the hotel take tangible steps towards sustainability by replacing plastic bottles with glass for water and eliminating single-use toiletries. Additionally, some of the artwork displayed in the hotel, particularly that by the renowned M. F. Hussain, is impressive and enhances the overall ambiance and atmosphere.

I did encounter an issue with my folio during checkout, but it was resolved to my satisfaction in a reasonable amount of time.

After thirty-five (35) years of great stays at this hotel, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when in Islamabad. The consistent and singular focus of the entire staff on a positive guest experience sets the hotel apart from others in the city.

I stayed here for 5 days and I have to say Ali at reception and Nasir in the executive lounge were brilliant they both had a fab attitude and always spoke with a smile.

This hotel has two pools one which is outside and the inside pool is for females only, as well as a gym and steam room for females only.
It’s very refreshing to have that privacy.

My room had a lovely view of the Mountains and was very peaceful with no noise coming to the room from outside of the building.

The only negative about my room was there was a smell of tobacco and I did complain about it a couple of times.

Breakfast:
The negative about the overall stay was the breakfast area and how other guests were arriving for breakfast in their night wear both men and women and unfortunately that brings the hotels five star rating down to a 3.

The hotel should have a policy that no one can roam around with their nightwear.
It gives the hotel an unclean look.

I was on a four hour time difference but still managed to wake up shower change my clothes and look presentable before going down to breakfast.

Spa on site.
The hotel has a spa called Nirvana I would not recommend using the spa as the manager is very rude and not respectful of customers time.
Whilst I was having a spa mani and pedi she shouted out to the girls giving me my treatment why is the mani pedi taking so long?
I’m surprised as she didn’t take into account that I waited for over 40 mins for my treatment to commence.
Then i had booked my hair colour to be done and I had bought my own colour with me and I had to wait for over an hour as an emergency customer had arrived to be honest I really couldn’t careless as my time is important.
I didn’t get a single apology for wasting my time instead I got charged full whack even though I bought my own colour.
The staff doing the treatments are brilliant the manager is a rude rude lady.

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I basically live in hotels, so I’ve seen it all. And let me tell you, this one? Yikes. The lobby is like that one well-dressed guest at a bad party—looks great, but everything else is a disaster. Here’s my breakdown:

1) **Executive Lounge** – I’ve seen bigger closets. The food selection? Let’s just say, I’ve had more options at a gas station convenience store.

2) **Rooms** – Straight out of a time machine, and not in a cool vintage way. More like "Grandma’s guest room that hasn’t been updated since the '80s." Even a roadside motel in the U.S. would put this to shame. Oh, and my TV had a lovely blue tint—pretty sure that’s just the screen’s way of crying for help.

3) **Location** – Meh. Nothing to write home about.

And the price? They’re charging **$300+ a night** for this outdated relic. What kind of parallel universe pricing is this? I could be getting a full spa treatment at a **Ritz-Carlton overseas** for that money! Maybe this place is a status symbol in Pakistan, but to me, it’s just a very expensive disappointment.

Final verdict: **Save your cash.** Customer service is solid, but unless they can magically renovate the entire hotel, it’s just not worth it.

Islamabad Marriot goes cheap. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean cheap in terms of being inexpensive, it remains one of the most expensive hotels in Pakistan.

I booked a room for myself, my nephew and my son using my points for 12 and 13 March 2022. The purpose of the trip was to show off Pakistan’s best to my British born son who had never been to Pakistan. The issues started before even checking in, I called a day ahead to book transportation from Islamabad airport, each time I called the operator tried to put me through to reception who promptly hang up on 3 occasions. On the fourth occasion, I managed to speak with someone and booked a shuttle bus.

On checking in we were told that breakfast was not provided, and we would have to pay for breakfast. They omitted to inform me that we could use the executive lounge for breakfast using my Marriott status. We were provided with a small room with only two beds, and towels for two, I asked for additional bedding and was told it would be provided and we went out sightseeing. We returned after 3 or 4 hours, and the addition beading was not placed in our small room. Again I called reception and asked for an additional bed and again it was not provided. Eventually, I went down to reception and was informed that I had requested addition bedding as we were 3 males and I had booked a room for 3. Immediately, I was informed that there would be a charge, I asked why the hotel was behaving in such a cheap manner and that I had booked a room for three persons. Also, I would pay and never use Islamabad Marriot. At this point the reception staff checked my status and said it would be free as a long term Marriot customer and having stayed with them previously. At this point I asked about the executive lounge and was informed that we could used it.

Had the staff bothered to check before trying to fleece additional money the experience would not have been so cheap.

In summary, service is second to trying to fleece as much money from the customer as possible.

The building is old and in need of major renovation, paint can be seen flaking from various parts of the building.

The Internet is extremely slow.

As a corporate customer, I have spent millions of USD in various Marriott hotels around the world over the past 30 years to house myself and my team. My experience on this occasion fell far below my experience of any other Marriot I have used before. Management needs to provide additional training and instill service as a priority and not behave in such a cheap manner.

On the positive side, the views from the hotel were great.

Free airport shuttle is offered by the hotel, but you may be asked to wait until other guests arrive. In my case I had to wait almost an hour. Not convenient if you arrive in the middle of the night tired and sleepy. You can also request an airport pickup service for you only for a fee. The drive should take 45-60 minutes depending what time you arrive.

I doubt it, but I'm sure you can specify a need for security and safety. As a woman, I didn't feel insecure in any way while I was at the hotel. Maybe request a lower floor near the elevator-- I do this on my own solo travel for work.
