3 things that i liked while staying here: -Spacious rooms -Centaurus mall/Faisal mosque/Zoo and other attractions were just around the corner -polite staff One of our rooms had a broken handle inside it's washroom and caused trouble. The washrooms looked old but were acceptable. Conclusively, it's a good place for couples and families.

Le royal once had service excellence certification from trip advisor in 2013. But most of that has gone now. Though the staff is still very freindly but like many other guest houses in islamabad Le royal has absolutely stopped maintaining its rooms and other areas. May be this is because of CDAs closure notice to all guests houses located in residential areas. Though this legal dispute is in process but the guest house business is showing signs of down fall. So compared to the 6000 PKR (60$) i paid for the night and the room condition i recieved, i didnt feel the good deal out of it. their electric generators work well and they have no power issue. So u can have a good sleep. ACs and fans are good. Bed sheets were clean its right next to centauress mall Some key dissapointments were No liquid soap in despenser Side lamps fixed with clear tape. Walls are dirty Phone line to reception doesnt work. So if you need to ask something you will have to go there personaly. If u plan to stop a le royal then try to bargain for not more than 5000PKR for a night.

I had called and spoken with Khurram Iqbal and booked a number of weeks in advance, 3 rooms for my family and extended family for 5 days. I had specified which rooms I wanted and checked if those rooms were confirmed. I received the confirmation and was told not to worry. However and the day before I was to arrive I was told that none of the confirmed rooms were available and in fact one of the rooms that I specifically said I didn't want (room 304) was reserved for my family! Very disappointed with that. Basically in the end we were given 3 rooms which we didn't want. We had 2 rooms on the ground floor and 1 on the second floor. My husband and I got room 304. It looks decent in the pictures but just as an earlier reviewer had mentioned, the room is really quite worn. The pictures make the room look nicer than it really is. Just so you know. Room 304 is a rather large room so that was good. The bed was comfy and lighting very adequate. But the cupboards, cabinets, the vanity room/area and bathroom were clearly aged and worn out. The sofa wasn't really large but would fit 2 persons decently. The 2 armchairs where comfortable. The sad thing is the window in the room actually overlooks a really unpleasant backyard of the next door house. The rooms were cleaned when we told them to. Otherwise they didn't. But I think that's something to do with security issues and so they wouldn't enter the room unless they were told to. Also in case the kids left clothes/toys lying about they would be in the same place when we returned even though housekeeping had been in the room. No such thing as tidying up the obvious things left by guests. I guess I was expecting too much having been spoilt by the housekeeping service I've received elsewhere. Also cutlery and crockery wouldn't be replaced even though they provide a kettle and sachets of coffee, tea etc. Housekeeping provided the similar type of service for the other 2 rooms too. Now, we were there in mid December and it was really cold. I was told during booking that there would be hot water and heating 24 hours a day. That was not true at all. Our first 3 days was cold as in coooold especially at night where there was just no heater working at all. The water was also freezing. We got some hot water in the mornings but it didn't last for more than 20-30 minutes which really didn't help as the kids (who were in room 305) wanted to shower in our bath as their bathroom didn't have a tub. When we complained about the lack of heat to the Manager we were basically told to rough it out as they didn't have any electric heaters left having given their existing 1 or 2 electric heaters to some other rooms already. No such things as we'll get it from another hotel or rent one for you despite knowing we had a 2 year old and 3 other children with us. Their sad excuse was that the area itself wasn't having gas and so it's not only them and in fact we were lucky to be getting the intermittent electricity that we were getting thanks to their rather noisy power generator. After I complained further and texted Mr Iqbal, (who despite assuring me over the phone that he would be there to meet us, did not show up over the 5 days that we were there) we managed to get an electric heater for 2 rooms on day 4 and 5. That helped. Now the bathrooms. Room 304's is big, and in December and without proper heating, is cold. No warmer/heating lights or padded floors/toilet seats or hot water toilet sprays. They do provide toilet tissues though thankfully. No toiletries are provided except for a bar of soap. Towels are decent in terms of size, cleanliness and quality. As mentioned there's a bathtub in this bathroom but it looked worn enough for me to decide against soaking in it. In any event, that thought was moot given that hot water was scarce. Room 305 has a standing shower with glass sides but it's really small and sufficient for an adult to move about just enough to soap himself. We had the same issue with the hot water in this room too. I must mention though the water pressure in both rooms was good, thankfully. A large flat screen TV with a wide selection of cable channels was provided in all the rooms. There was no issue with this and it worked real fine so long as there was electricity. Food and breakfast, oh and drinks. Breakfast was provided as part of the room booking package. Go with the Pakistani paratha breakfast, it's pretty good and the portions are large. 1 portion could fill 2 persons. The continental breakfast while decent, doesn't quite fill you up like the parathas do and the portions are definitely smaller. Also go with the omelette instead of the bullseye, it's yummy. I have to say the food is on the pricier side but it's not unexpected in a hotel. But the drinks including bottled water were ridiculously expensive. Just know that there are little shops just after the mosque (to the left of the guest house) that sell bottled water/sodas and junk-food, etc. We found these little shops extremely convenient as a change from the guest house food/services. We also gave loads of clothes to be dry-cleaned there and they provided same day collection too. I must say though, the cooks/servers in the guest house's kitchen were by far the most helpful and provided excellent service. They were willing to cook food to the preference of my 2 year old and took instructions from us and double-checked too to ensure the food was cooked to his liking. They were brilliant and if anything the saving grace of this guest house. The hotel drivers too were helpful and good. On the point of the hotel drivers, when we asked the driver how much would the guest house charge for a drive to a certain location we were told a certain price which made us decide to use the hotel driver for our outing. Subsequently, however when we were ready to go on our drive the reception quoted us a price that was a couple of hundred more than what the driver had told us. I'm not sure why that was the case but we were not happy with the sudden change of price at the last minute. I should also mention that when I arrived at the hotel late at night (having flown-in later than the rest of the family) I was greeted by no one actually. The reception counter seemed to be manned by tired looking staff at night who didn't even bother to say welcome and it's unfortunately manned by an aloof, smug and least helpful person/manager during the day. The house as a whole was decent but definitely not a 5 star premises. The lawn in front is the only real pleasure at this place but it's a small lawn and there's nothing really to do but sit and chat there. The flowers surrounding the lawn is pretty. The plus point to this place is its location, as many have already mentioned, it's a 5 minutes walk to Centaurus Mall and that was the only thing that kept us from moving premises after 2 days of being in the cold rooms. Also finding taxis is extremely easy as they are lined up from just outside the guest house all the way to the main road facing the Mall. These conveniences will definitely be a factor to take into consideration in terms of the location of this guest house. On the whole, the guest house was pricy and I really didn't feel I was getting my money's worth. I particularly didn't like being misled into thinking I had confirmed rooms of my choice, and 24 hours heating and hot water (which with kids and winter are necessities). I would rather they had been upfront about the issues they were having. The unwelcoming reception was another complete turn-off. I don't think we'll stay here again if we can find another place that's walking distance to Centaurus Mall.

Located in F-8/4 near Centaurus Mall out gate on walking distance of 3 minutes. The guest house is known for its prime location and we'll furnished rooms. The room rent varies between Rs 4000 to 5500. The environment is calm and peaceful. Area is also secure and no worries of meals as it not only has its own kitchen but also the food court of centaurus is open till mid night.

Le Royal is undoubtedly the best guest house in Islamabad. The location is just perfect. It's a few steps away from The Centaurus; which makes it an ideal guest house to stay for shopping lovers. There is a taxi stand nearby which made it really easy for me to commute in the city. The staff is actually very cooperative & respectful. Both the managers Abdul Raheem & Hassan are always willing to help out in every possible way. Even the driver who came to pick me up at the airport was very cooperative and nice. Will definitely go back for a longer stay.
