I stayed in Puma Imperial Hotel for two weeks in two instalments in October 2019 and, I don't regret my decision staying in this hotel. I already reviewed the hotel after my first stay and that remains valid. This hotel became a home away from home for me for those two weeks. Nice and helpful English speaking staff, spacious and confortable room, onsite restaurant and a KFC just outside the hotel, supermarket 5 minutes walk, central location, et. etc. After my first stay I got a free upgrade to a superior room, which was luxurious. Adequate number of wall sockets for international plugs (hotels in the developed countries do not have this consideration - in the USA and UK, sockets for only USA and UK plugs; even in Singapore and Dubai hotels, wall sockets accommodate only British plugs - Type G), adequate lighting in the room, desk space and desk lamp, all of which made my work and stay very comfortable. Besides, breakfast was excellent. Complimentary drinking water bottle, sachets of good quality teabags, instant coffee and sugar and a hot water maker, and adequate complimentary toiletries. Daily laundry service. The hotel provides meter taxi calling assistance, but I found the meter taxis to be expensive. The meter taxis charged me T12000 for a 6 km ride, and T45000 (approximately $17) for a one-way ride to the airport (20 km). But, this is the only option when one does not know the local language or even Russian to be able to negotiate with a street taxi. It would be good if they include a price list for the minibar items. There is a price list for the laundry service.…
Stayed twice in the span of a couple of weeks during a vacation in Mongolia. A bit of confusion about whether the room was pre-paid or not, was efficiently cleared up satisfactorily. Staff very helpful and friendly. They provided a take-away breakfast for mornings I had to leave before breakfast was served in the restaurant. Room was comfortable enough, although bathroom fixtures/plumbing in need of maintenance. Location of the hotel is unbeatable!
I spent 2 nights at the puma hotel in 2 different rooms and I have nothing to really report as it was a good stay, clean beds and bathroom with good breakfast and service. I would judge as good value for money
The location is superb. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The staff at reception is friendly and helpful. Some minor improvement will make it a 5 star review. 1. Shower curtains over the bath tub will be useful. 2. Put the main light switch nearer to the entrance. 3. For room with shower and no bath tub, provide a soap dish.
Our agent had recommended this hotel. I was a bit hesitated because of some "not so good" reviews, but these where mostly related to the former "new building". Now the hotel is "back to its roots" in the original building and the rooms are well renovated, quite good and clean. I have experienced a very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and anything what I expect from a good hotel. The management even has asked me for advise to improve the service; perfect! Next time when I will be in UB, definitely this wil be my choice again!
The location of this hotel is difficult to beat... just of Sukhbaatar Square! Close to the Parliament Building, national museum, restaurants and pubs. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and comfortable, with good beds and linens. The bathroom in my room was a bit lousy, with ancient brass plumbing, no shelf space for toiletries, no toilet-paper holder, etc., but it was tolerable. The TV was problematic and cut out regularly, but the staff eventually gave me the code to re-entry to get it working again each time; once working, the channel selection was very good, including several English-language channels. Breakfast was good, but not great. The lobby lounge bar closes very early (around 9), but the staff will continue to serve you if you want to stay later.
This hotel is located near most businesses and government buildings. Priced average, but don't expect to get much fresh food or any service after 7:30 am. The servers will be busy talking to each other or playing with their phones! Good housekeeping! And reception services!
Located in very central location of the city. Able to walk to most tourist sites. Clean, friendly staff. Buffet breakfast. Rooms start from 11th to 15th floor but try to get room above the 11th floor as it is directly above the gym located on the 10th floor. Loud music can be irritating. Also try to get room with even number as they overlook the nice green square behind Parliament Building.
Well located, just off the main square. Everything was fine, except the bed was so hard. Excellent views from rooms (we were L14), and breakfast was on L17. Staff were quite good, but not overly helpful.
I never leave reviews, but I was so disappointed by my stay at the hotel, which wasn't cheap. Staff were unexpectedly rude: they were surly as if you were disturbing them and spoke harshly when asked basic questions, refused to change money (even though they have the capability), they tried to over-charge me for my stay and to short-change me when giving me the change from my USD bill in local currency (luckily I had the Booking.com receipt and the day's exchange rate handy). They agreed to book me an early morning airport taxi and to give me a wake-up call at 4am - they never did so and I had to call down at 4.15am to remind them. No apology. They seemed to have no desire to do their job, which I found surprising as a frequent traveller. Rooms were smaller than expected and uncomfortably warm; I had to sleep with the window open as the portable AC provided was very noisy and confusing to operate. Overpriced for what it was. Positives: Breakfast was good and varied; great location and the room had a nice view from the 15th floor. One male staff member in the main hotel was always friendly.…
