We had the pleasure of staying one night here before flying to Luang Prabang. The room was clean, had a big bed,hot water and a verandah so you could see the Mekong River. The breakfast was good was nice sitting on the verandah watching the place waking up. Had dinner at a really good place around the corner and the night...

We have recently (Jan & Feb 2012) stayed in the Orchid Hotel and found the service super friendly, the food excellent and the rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable. We will definitly be staying there on our next trip to Vientiane. The location is superb as it is close to the night markets, temples, resturants and the Mekong. Breakfast is included,...

I stayed 3 days here, and was extremely satisfied, staff were friendly (except night receptionist, he never smiled!), room was clean, comfortable, bathroom clean, hot water but no amenities. Breakfast was good and served until 10am. Only negatives, on last night had a mosquito in my room probably cos the staff leave the doors open during cleaning, balcony light remains...

This hotel is in a quiet side street off the Mekong. We have a standadrd room at the back of the hotel. It is well decorated and very comfortable. The hot shower was extremely welcome after the night train from Bangkok. The staff are very efficient and helpful and everyone speaks excellent English. There is free wifi and free computer...

Reservation & reception: I communicated it by email and all was honoured, e.g. requesting a room on higher floor facing the Wat. However, the reception staff was unfriendly, no smile in her face, very cold atmosphere. They explained nothing about the hotel, like simple things, e.g. times of breakfast and where to take it. The staff just not say anything,...

Lovely hotel and room, we stayed on 2nd floor, if you are staying longer then try rooms on level 4 or 5 as they have a great view over Mekong. Breakfast is great, a mixture of Asian and Western foods with full buffet service and they cook you eggs/omelet how you like. Staff very friendly. Mekong river at the corner...

For our first visit to Vientiane, we chose Lao Orchid after reading various comments on Trip Advisor and elsewhere. From the beginning of our booking process the hotel was prompt, attentive and most agreeable to deal with. We stayed for three nights initially with a fourth night following two nights in another city in Laos. The hotel arranged a van...

We stayed here for 2 nights in December in one of the standard double rooms. PROS: 1) Clean and well lit rooms with fridge 2) Comfy beds 3) Great breakfast with good selection and freshly made eggs on request 4) Restaurant available for lunch or dinner, simple dishes but tasty and very cheap and great if you're tired and don't...
