The choice of this hotel was from a visa run agency not mine. I actually arrived in Vientiane one day earlier and stayed in a much much better hotel, which was cheaper too. So in short you will have to be a fool or a Chinese man to stay in this place for what they are charging. Like i said... More

It's over 12 years since I first stayed at the Lane Xang Hotel in downtown Vientiane. It has had a bit of a makeover since then inside the rooms and the reception area was altered some time ago. The beds are comfortable and bathroom serviceable. At about USD49 per night, and being right in the downtown area not far from... More

We stayed here for one night and switched to another hotel. The hotel rooms need to be refurbished (stained carpets, lamps not working, old furniture, no safe). Everything was cleaned but was just to old (like stains on the bed linen). The wifi is free but wasn't working during our visit. The breakfast was not very good. Overall our double... More

This rating is strictly for lunch at the restaurant not the hotel stay. My friends and I went for lunch at the Salongxay room. The place was decently clean but it was hot because there was no air condition in the back of the room where we sat. Food and drinks were pricey but for the sake of parking and... More

We stayed here because we had to. I had food poisoning and this was the only place available at short notice. The only bonus of spending two days entirely in this hotel is, I can provide an in-depth review. I have never written a poor review before, and I am not a fan of those people who seek to unload... When I last stayed in this hotel 10 years ago it was dated then and on first impression, it hadn't changed. However, I was slightly wrong. From the outside it looked the same but the rooms had been slightly updated and we had quite a nice bathroom and indeed the bedroom was reasonable as well. The breakfast was not great... More

We were welcomed by a committee of mosquitos in the large musty hotel reception and then when I arrived in my room I was greeted by a stream of waste water flowing across the dirty bathroom floor. The room was very dated and basically unclean. The hotel advertised a pool and gym but apparently both have been closed for some... More

Awful. Arrived and shown to my room. The bathroom was dirty the mosquito nets didn't close so my room was full of Mosquitos. The advertised pool and gym are out of service. As a result I cancelled my booking and went somewhere else. The staff were very apologetic which is the only positive comment i can make. Avoid at all... More

A fair breakfast but not amazing. Air con turns on only once in the room and it makes the place like a sauna for the first 15 minutes as it builds up steam. Best beds in south east asia though. Really comfy. Shower is one of those annoying ones that alternates between scolding and freezing without any change by the... More

Strange to go back, after 20 years, to this dinosaur from the Soviet times; the exterior has not changed at all, and neither has the lobby. Many rooms have been renovated, elevators are new. In the rooms, everything is very impersonal, and lighting is not good, if you like tio read in bed ! Electrical safety is not a priority... More
