We arrived at the Salanaat about 9 am after a long long overland journey from Bangkok - on the overnight sleeper to the Friendship Bridge. We were just going to leave our bags, and check in later (officially, after 2 pm). The lovely receptionist said that we could have the room immediately if we wanted, as it was ready, and...

If I ever return to Vientiane I will stay here again . The location is fantastic - if you like monks chanting and hearing their early morning wake up gongs!! So close to night market and the river. Round the corner from great restaurants . Etc The staff are mega helpful , polite and go out of their way to...

We stayed 3 nights in this really nice hotel in the center. Hotel is located in the heart of Vientiane, but calm and silent. Rooms are good. Breakfast it also really good. Service is friendly. I got special good service taking care of my bicycle. Thanks for that. I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Great location and room spacious and clean. Staff could have been better. When we asked them to book a taxi for us to go to our next destination we were given the name of a travel agency down the road. And then told that it would probably be closed as it was a National Holiday! No one checked when we...

This hotel was beautiful city hotel situated right by the mekong river and the night market. Tons of restaurants and bars around within walking distance. Great location. We rented a bicycle at the hotel and went to explore the city. ( it was too hot :() staff are really nice and friendly but English is not very good. Breakfast was...

Well located hotel for wandering around Vientiane. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the spacious suites with great views down the street and river. We arranged with the hotel an airport transfer and after 24 hours of travelling we were pleased to get into their cool and comfortable mini bus. All the staff were friendly and efficient....

True boutique hotel in the heart of Vientiane recently renovated in a traditional/modern Laos style. They have a nice bar on level 4 which is great for sundowners. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, good food, close to everything - shops, markets, cafes, street food, bars and the Mekong - what more can I say :-)

It was a wonderful stay. My room #507 was overlooking a charming temple (Wat) and the other side of guestrooms as well. Level 4 has a charming cozy library / lounge bar overlooking the river. Comfort, very friendly staff and superb location with everything in walking distance lus great breakfast.

Overall, we'd recommend this hotel: The staff were lovely and the location excellent. Wiang Jan (in French Vientiane) is a lovely city that slowly makes you part of it. One wonders why the owners felt the need to pipe dreadful American and British Christmas music into the breakfast room every morning. This is 2015 and anyone who can afford to...

It's funny how we considered Vientiane as a must-do stop with very little expectations. The city ended up being a good surprise with a nice comfortable boutique hotel, good shopping, loads of restaurants to choose from and a pleasant little charming little city full of temples to explore. Our room was on the third floor facing the Ong Teu temple....
