We loved our 2 nights. They picked us up from the airport and provided a map of the city. It was always a peaceful place to rest after a busy day and the breakfasts were fantastic! The location was a short (very short) walk from the riverfront, but if you are in no hurry it is walking distance to nearly...

Stayed here for two nights in late April 2011 with my husband and two Vietnamese friends, encouraged by the excellent reviews. Since Vientiane is not a large city, most reasonable hotels are in good, walking distance locations. The Khamvongsa is no exception, and there are several good restaurants close by (including a Lonely Planet Top Pick across the street), as...

This is a mid-range hotel according to their qutoed price so I expected more from them. However, Khamvongsa letted me down. Firstly, The bathroom is really bad designed, there is no curtain and the floor will all wet after taking the shower. No sampoo provided. The room wifi NEVER work and I need to go down to the lobby to...

Beautiful lovely boutique hotel! Friendly staff, great selection of breakfast, tidy and cost rooms with nice lighting in an ideal location. Real home from home. Single rooms are actually pretty really good value too as rooms are large and beds are wide.

Located on a quiet side of Vientiane, there isn't much to do at the hotel and around the hotel. The only positive thing is that you can walk to the Museum and nearby that area, there is The Pizza Company and Swensen. Perhaps the fault does not lie with the location of the hotel but that Vientiane is a boring...

Really enjoyed our stay at the Khamvongsa. The location is a bit west of the main part of Vientiane but it's still only a short walk to most of the sites, bars and restaurants. Despite being on a reasonably busy road, there was no noise in the rooms ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The rooms were huge with beautiful furniture...

We stayed in Hotel Khamvongsa with our three daughters twice, first for two nights, then for one night before we left Laos. In both cases, there was someone waiting to pick us up at the airport, as planned. We were taken directly to our rooms, which were large, comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Despite the...

Initially booked for 4 nights for a standard room. Due to flight availability we had to go to Vientiance one day earlier. Hotel informed us that only the best room is available. Anyway we booked this for our first night. When we arrived, it was on the top floor up 5 flights of stairs. It didn't feel like a luxurious...

First stay, housekeeping liberated my bottle of water from the room, no idea why. Second stay, I got a date wrong and the hotel upgraded me to a more expensive room at no cost as all their cheaper rooms were full. Included breakfast has 5 choices and quite good, homely place but the doors can have quite large gaps around...

I am surprised how few other travelers commented on the noise problem in the rooms facing the street. Avoid rooms 1, 2, and 3. I stayed in room 2 for 4 nights and could not sleep. I trust that rooms in the back are better. Otherwise, the hotel is small and charming and good value. I was here for business...
