We stayed 4 nights as a family of 4 in a twin and a double half way through our 5 week trip to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Rooms were very nice, lovely comfortable beds, BBC World service on the large picture TV. Fantastic view from our 17th floor rooms and delicious breakfast. Loved the rooftop bar- reasonable priced drinks during the happy 4 hours (3 pm to 7pm). I had the best cocktail I’ve ever had- a “Thai me up, Thai me down”. My husband would like to thank the concierge for his help in recommending restaurants and organising a car to transport us to the Chu Chi tunnels. Staff were really friendly. We used the roof top pool every day and loved it but only on one of the days did we manage to bag a lounger. I wonder if there could be a few more seats provided but recognise that it’s a small area and that the roof top bar takes up the majority of the space. Only other minor comment would be that it was impossible to get the air con in the room below 21.5 degrees. That said - it might just be that no one else but overhearing Brits want it below this temperature!!!…
I went to Saigon kitchen restaurant on the evening of July 29, as a chef, I am very attentive about the food. Of course, there will be many good and bad points, I would like to share my feelings and evaluate the highlights that I think are the most impressive. How will you feel when you re-enjoy the taste that your mother cooked for you when you were young? I'm talking about Ossobuco. As a chef, I'm a bit strict about food, but that evening's Ossobuco I don't have much to say. The taste was exactly the same as the one my mother cooked for me when I was there childhood. As an Italian, I admire the chef who cooked this Ossobuco, thank you very much. Meatloaf is the second dish I admire very much. You put a dish commonly used in festivals in a buffet, that's a good idea. Honestly while eating meatloaf, I tried to find a small error, but unfortunately there was no. The dish is seasoned very well, the sauce is sour, sweet, perfect, and don't see the ugly appearance but underestimate the inside, wonderful taste. Paella Valenciana ? I think the chef made a mistake? The name of the dish is Paella Valenciana but the dish I ate is the Risotto of my hometown. It is funny that the chef cooks the Risotto very well, but the taste is that of Paella Valenciana. I don't know if the chef made a mistake, but the combination was interesting and delicious. After all, I was a little uncomfortable about the vegetable dimsum. Too many vegetables in one dimsum, it makes me have a bitter taste in my mouth and quite unpleasant. If this was a traditional dish, I would probably sympathize and accept it. Everything else is great. Thank you for giving me a complete and wonderful dinner.…
To be clear from a perspective of location and facilities (like the lovely roof top pool) The Arts is a great hotel - but it’s totally undermined by the simply EXTORTIONATE prices - I am talking £1k (yes one thousand pounds or $1.2k) for two very average dinners, a bottle of wine, champagne and some aperitifs for a family of four!! Quite literally your paying £60++ for a steak and chips and £80 for a Sauvignon Blanc and £20 for a glass of champagne and they think this is okay. I’m all for paying a premium for 5 star luxury and service but not for being exploited and this is all what The Arts is about. Moreover, I am fortunate enough to have stayed globally in numerous Four Seasons & Ritz Carlton’s - not only are the substantially better they are substantially cheaper - so do yourself a favour, find another 5 star property with an ethos of customer service not exploitation.…
For a hotel of this standing and price category, you would expect an impeccable experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Whilst the rooms are very nice (we booked the executive suite) the staff is friendly and this hotel has a lot to offer (including a fantastic breakfast), we were nevertheless quite disappointed and will not return here. My feeling is that the hotel is living of the quality of the infrastructure but falling short everywhere else. Of course, things can always go wrong, but in our case the list of things that did not work was so long it started being annoying. From technology problems (TV and telephone didn’t work when we arrived and sporadically thereafter) to service issues (no towels at the swimming pool, extremely slow bar service, …) to just basics like no jet/brush to clean the toilet. We called reception to organise a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels the next day but were told all the companies were fully booked so it wasn’t possible. We then did some research ourselves and booked the Cu Chi tour ourselves through Tripadvisor (took us less than 15min). As a guest in the executive suites, we had access to the executive lounge. Unfortunately, the service is very strict and inflexible so when you come back from a hot trip (like the Ci Chi tunnels) and are longing for a nice cold beer, you can forget about it unless you wait till the clock strikes 5:00. What a joke! I hope our experience is not representative, but I would urge management to start paying more attention to detail and focusing a bit more on customer experience.…
We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our amazing Vietnam holiday. We upgraded our room on arrival to a room at the Sky Executive Lounge level . We would definitely recommend any potential resident do this too . Privileges include all day teas and coffees , afternoon tea , excellent evening cocktails and canapés . The staff in this lounge are superbly hospitable and helpful with admin tasks such as airline check in and general advice . The views from this lounge over the city are very enjoyable too . Thuong was very helpful and welcoming as were all staff in this excellent hotel . I feel a little guilty for not noting other names . Our room was clean and comfortable and well supplied with water daily and welcome gifts of fruit etc . The restaurants provide an excellent choice of types of food and the quality is top level . I’d return to this hotel and this city in a flash .…
Stayed here after checking out of Intercontinental due to some big issues. MGallery Saigon was lovely, chic and staff were very lovely / helpful, rooms perfect and the housekeeping was the best I’ve experienced in a long time. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone visiting Saigon. Good location too. A++
Returning after two years we found Hotel des Arts was as wonderful as ever. A highlight is Sunday Brunch at Social Club. In addition to the usual great food and service, Linh made it extra special - making sure we didn't miss out on any specialties and sharing insights and advice to make our meal and our trip trip even more special.
The Sunday brunch at social club is not to be missed. Great selection of food, excellent champagne and the service and drinks were on point. I booked ahead of a visit to HCMC with Ms Linh in F&B relations and she was so helpful, even through so painful credit card authorisation issues, she was always on hand to help and ensured my friends and I had a great afternoon.
f&b staff should have treat every guest equally and not just focus on the white foreigner guest. everyone pay the same price on a sunday brunch. front office staff did a very good job, check in and out is a breeze.
All is 5 stars, food, services, clean, location close to many iconic food. iconic place. Pool at roof top make sensational view. Room floor made from wood Parkit, charge as a classical feel in modern style,
