The hotel is not accessible by cars as it is in an alley which is near the Bui Vien walking street, but you won't hear the party from here. We arrived late but check in was really fast. They were already expecting us (a/c was already on). We informed them in our online reservation notes that we'll arrive at that time; and got the room location we wanted. This is a plus point as it shows they were attentive to guests requests. Their staff (thanks An & Jack) are really nice and friendly and are always willing to assist you with their smiling faces. The room is big, complete with a refrigerator and they provide basic toiletries, a hair dryer, bidet, shower with heater. No water heater(for coffee) inside the room but they provide hot water in the lobby. There is unli coffee that you can get anytime of the day which is really great! Breakfast was also great, complete with fruits. The only thing I would suggest is that, hopefully they do maintenance in their rooms as the walls has molds already. All in all, our stay was great and it's worth the price you pay! 🙂 We'll recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to stay near the happening place! 👌 …

The property is centrally located in District 1 with everything practically walking distance only. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. The wifi was also strong inside our room in the 2nd floor. Jack, the manager, and the other staff were excellent hosts. They were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here if I visit HCM again.

Great location in HCMC! Close to all amenities. We stayed in 203. Quiet room. Comfortable beds. Front desk staff Jack, Jane & Cody more than made up for the tired rooms. They were friendly and very helpful! Would recommend for those looking for quality budget accommodation. Our stay was prearranged with a cycling group. We actually stayed an extra nite beyond, as cycling tour ended here.

First off the positives: pretty good price, central location right down the alleys of District 1 Backpacker Area. Room is fine, huge bed with clean sheets, lots of good storage, TV, hair dryer etc. Staff are nice but we didn't talk to them much. The hotel and the room seemed very worn down to us. The room wasn't particularly clean. Gross thick dust on the TV which wasn't even high up, chest level on me. Under the bed was filthy with rubbish from previous guests. Under the boiler were orange stains from the boiler dripping rust. The cupboard was broken, the flush handle on the toilet was broken. The ceiling tiles were dirty and broken in places and there were chunks taken out of the wall plaster in places. The rainwater pipe ran through our room. Oh, and our room had ants. Don't get me wrong. It's not the worst place I've stayed but we've stayed in some really really nice 2 star hotels. This, unfortunately, is not one of them. Book early elsewhere and you can get something much nicer in just as good a location for the same price.…

Very good location as it is right off the main strip for bars and restaurants. Down a little street and no noise from the city which is great. Basic room and bathroom but no fresh towels provided after 1st night. Staff are helpful and accommodating. Offer taxi for $15 from airport but wouldn’t recommend as typically $5-7.

A traveler recommended this small hotel on his blog, so after some additional research, I booked it for my first days in Vietnam after a long 18 hour flight. I wanted to be someplace nice where I could easily get to the main city sites (i.e. a very central location) where It wouldn’t be too loud if I needed to sleep during the day if I was really jet lagged. Tripwriter Hotel really delivered. It is on a small pedestrian-only side street. (Yes, no scooters, cars or motorcycles!) They arranged for a driver meet me at the airport; he parked when we were on the nearest main street to the hotel —30 seconds away—-and walked me to the lobby, so there was no way for me to get lost, even in my zombie state. You can hear a little noise from nearby streets but it was minimal, which is kind of a miracle in central HCMC. And it was short walking distance to virtually everything. The room was clean and the staff was professional, friendly and hard working. Special thanks to Cody, Jack, and Wo An who were always so helpful. Great value— Highly recommend. …

We arrived as a large group & ended with me on my own. The rooms were basic, but clean - with great A/C & Fridge. Good location & really great breakfasts! All our group commented on the fantastic Manager (Jack). Always a smile & nothing was too much trouble - I would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was located at the strategic location, surrounded by many backpacker hotels and travel agencies, also known as Pham Ngu Lao backpacker district. At night, it was very happening, the Pham Ngu Lao Street have many international restaurants and bars, many coffee shops, souvenir shops, hostels, affordable motels and guesthouses. Stayed in the queen room with balcony, very spacious and clean. In the morning, they served the simple breakfast, toast with bacon, which made-to-order. Another good thing was the hotel nearby to the bus station where you can take the bus 109 to airport. Very convenient for those who need to catch the early bus to airport in the early morning. Overall, this was good budget hotel, central location, friendly staff and good value.

I stayed at the hotel for one night. I planned to go to Mui Ne by Futa Bus the next early morning. But unfortunately all seats are sold due to public holiday. Luckily, The Manager, Jack helped us to call other bus company and lastly we had seats (Although the pick up point is 20 mins walk from the hotel, at least I have seats to Mui Ne). He and his staff were very helpful during my stay. They even help me to arrange the private car to the bus pick up point. They also recommended quite a lot restaurant nearby and the food was really good. Highly recommend to those who need to travel to Mui Ne as the hotel is really really close to the bus pick up point.…
