Good location but shabby hotel obviously past its best. The staff speak a little English but were not very helpful, and unable to provide recommendations for restaurants or tours - all we got a leaflet full of tours that hadn't restarted after Covid. The pool is nice (not chlorinated as we'd expected) but the spa is definitely in need of an upgrade. The view from the bar is good, and you pay for it through expensive mediocre food and drinks. The "live music" was a real treat and unintentionally hilarious as it was like listening to a really cheesy wedding band.
The hotel is nice but we had two big problems The pool is under renovation and can not be used . They forgot to tell us about it when we made the reservation 😩 As everyone one visit the fare east know it is not recommended and can be dangerous to drink the tap water When we ask for more bottles of drinking water we was inform that they give only 1 bottle per person per day 😳😳😳 The hotel is a 5 stars hotel It is not expected from a 5 star hotel such a behavior Sorry I can not recommended it and will not return back again
One night stay, we checked in late at night. The receptionist was helpful and quick, and you would like them if you love old Saigon. We like the room, but actually it's a bit old for someone who enjoys modernity. You can have a good view to Saigon River too.
We went to M Bar on the 8th floor of the Hotel Majestic for a final splurge in HCMC before leaving the city. To say the meal was disappointing would be an understatement. The garlic prawns were underwhelming for taste and the prawns themselves were soft, like frozen prawns that had been defrosted. The Calamari was also tasteless and seemed straight out of a packet. The mains of pork ribs and duck were passable for a local diner but not for a 5 star hotel. This was the worst meal and by far the most expensive that we had in HCMC. The only good thing was the beautiful view of the river. We were disappointed and felt ripped off. Not recommended. Overpriced fail.
My wife and I booked a couple of days to celebrate a memorable birthday. The staff was very considerate and solicitous about all our needs. I was able to arrange a late checkout; their maintenance arrived quickly after our air conditioner malfunctioned the second evening. The location is wonderful: we walked to many site or took a quick taxi. Love the “old-world” charm and would definitely stay here again.
This place and booking.com scammed customers together. I booked from 24th to 25th and my booking has clearly stated the check-in and check-out time in bold and as the biggest part of my confirmation letter is 24th of Dec , 2 PM to 25th of Dec, 10 AM. HOWEVER, the hotel refused the check-in and check-out time even it was in my confirmation because they were sneaky to put it in the room name that the room is " Day Use". The whole name of the room is "Day Use Deluxe Pool/ City View - Stay from 10AM to 18PM" - how do you suppose to know if this is the check out time but not the pool usage time ??? The room name supposes to be the description of the room, NOT the check-in and check-out time. This is a low standard and terrible practice and my advice everyone is that you book for a company / important guest you should use a well-known chain name like ACCOR, Intercontinental because apparently, the local market even when it comes to 5 star hotel they will still use dirty trick and mismanagement to get money in a desperate time Khách sạn Majestic và booking.com nên thấy tự xấu hổ về cách quản lý hệ thống của mình.
Dating back to 1925, Hotel Majestic sits at the corner of Rue Catinat (now Dong Khoi St) and Quai de Belgique (Ton Duc Thang St) which runs along the river, and Hotel Majestic is considered to be a Ho Chi Minh city landmark. the Majestic has a good deal of French colonial charm remaining ,head up to the ninth floor restaurant and rooftop bar for a grand view of the river. On a number of visits to Ho Chi Minh city I stayed in rooms in the old building and am smitten with the original parquet flooring .Rooms are spacious yet manage to feel cozy and comfortable. The full marble bathrooms are over the top and appears like new. There’s a TV, minibar, kettle, in-room safe and WiFi. Rooms along Ton Duc Thang boast river views, which I always request. I found the staff to be courteous and professional. A real treat is breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the river. When I stay I feel like I’ve walked into a 1930s Glamour Movie. A beautiful authentic slice of Ho Chi Minh city !…
This is a classy hotel with a grand reception area and lovely rooms. Service was excellent and breakfast fantastic. The normal sky bar was closed but we had access to the sky bar on floor 8 which had brilliant views of the city and river although drinks are more expensive here it was worth it.
The Hotel was built in the IndioChina era, and is mostly constructed of marble, it occupies a position on the Saigon river, so rooms have a part view of the interesting working river. The Bar situated on one of the higher floors and benefits from wonderful river views. The room was not large but adequate with lots of hanging/storage space, and the bathroom with a full size bath and shower. Plenty of hot water, and toiletries. The buffet breakfast was very good with a large range on international choices as well as a cooking station where the chef cooked eggs in any requested style I celebrated my birthday whilst staying in the Majestic and the management staff presented me with a birthday card, birthday cake and a bowl of flowers, a really nice and friendly touch. Some staff, had only a limited grasp of English so communication with them was difficult. All in all the hotel and location could not be better, a really nice place to stay.…
We have noticed as we travelled from North Vietnam to the South that the service was not as good and this was evident in the Majestic Saigon. Whilst the reception area is quite majestic and the Roof Bar on the 8th Floor great, certainly in the Classic Wing the furniture and the rooms looked tired. The curtains didn’t close and the shower was awful until my husband fixed it. You would think housekeeping would have noticed these things. However on the good side, Saigon Tours have a desk in the hotel and we used them for our trip to the Tunnels, they we excellent, informative and we had a good day. Would think hotel wise, however you could probably do better elsewhere. Also Ho Chi Ming is now very modern and looks like a combination of Dubai and America with the high rise buildings. Dinner cruise on the Bonsai Cruise is excellent and would recommend. …
