I stayed here in July and was really disappointed. Weird stuff that happened while I was here: I was in bed asleep, and in the bath naked, with ‘do not disturb’ electronically shown on my door, when women staff tried to enter my room, on two separate occasions. The first occasion my room had already been refreshed for the day so I have no idea what their intention of entering the room was. The second time I was in bed sick, and purposely had ‘do not disturb’ showing as I couldn’t leave bed comfortably. They charged my friend’s card for a deposit, said it didn’t work, charged a second card, for my friend to discover the first charge did actually go through. Was very difficult and time consuming to resolve. There’s nowhere near enough elevators for the amount of rooms in the hotel, it can take upwards of ten minutes for a lift to arrive on your floor. Staff are not very good at all. You don’t even get a description of where your room is after check-in and doing anything with them takes about 20mins. Rooms are motel clean, not hotel clean. A lot of dust around the room and counter tops not wiped. They very strangely don’t offer alcohol in room service. We eventually convinced them to bring wine to us and they left the dirty wine glasses in our rooms for days. Good points: Hotel pool is pretty good (not enough day beds for the amount of guests wanting to use it though). Breakfast was good, but add to your booking before arriving otherwise it’s $57 NZD per person 😂 In summary, if you can put up with really average service, cleanliness and facilities, wait for a cheap rate and book. Otherwise this is definitely not worth the money, and far from 5-star.…
Started our trip to Vietnam here and we weren't disappointed, a spotless hotel with the best pool I have ever had the pleasure of swimming in. The views simply cannot be beaten! I would highly recommend a few nights stay here if you are travelling to Saigon
Attention !!! English: This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. Hello everyone, I do not like to put this type of comment but for this hotel I had to do it. This hotel has nothing of a 5 stars. The service is not up to the mark: the wifi works very poorly, I got intoxicated while eating in one of the restaurants of the hotel, the bar is closed at 10:45 pm, the staff does the minimum viable to meet your expectations etc.. In short, the list is long to state all the negative points that make this hotel has nothing of a 5 star Western hotel.…
We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. In comparison to other hotels we saw in HCMC it was very modern. The price was very reasonable for 5 star. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The roofrop pool was a highlight and had an amazing view of the city. There was a huge selection of food for breakfast. Staff were friendly. There were however some negatives. The sound insulation in the rooms is poor and you can hear even the TV in the next room. There is only a handful of beds at the pool and it's impossible to get one. A la carte food is overpriced and not a great standard. It feels like it is missing something that a 5 star should have. We felt it was closer to a 4 star hotel. It was not that clean and the finishes were not up to 5 star standard.
Most of the staff (especially at the reception) is not very professional and efficient. The room was very small for an hotel that pretend to be a 5 stars and it lacks in cleaning and facilities (any chairs for the luggages available for example). Breakfast was mediocre. Location is ok. Nice the infinity pool on the rooftop. For sure La Vela Saigon is not a 5 stars hotel.
We stayed at La Vela Saigon Hotel for 3 nights and we had an amazing time here. This is just a few things that we loved in the hotel: *Amazing swimming pool on the rooftop the biggest in Saigon with great views. * Our room was a suit and was spacious, comfortable and clean. * All the staff was very professional, nice and kind. * All amenities well cleaned and very pleasant (pool, gym, restaurant and lobby). * Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores near by. * Loved the fact we had towels (gym and pool) and complementary water at the gym and room. * The breakfast was delicious with many options. *Hotel decoration is very tasty in all areas. Overall we had a fantastic experience! We couldn't recomend more staying at this hotel.
This would have to be the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I was told breakfast closed at 10am and upon arriving at 9:30am all the food had been taken away as it actually closes at 9am- ridiculously early. The bathroom curtain was decorated with native insects whilst the complimentary water bottles are small enough to quench the thirst of a lizard and nothing more. The meal from room service was quite literally the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. You could find a meal that tastes just as good from the garbage bin. Cold, microwaved pizza and a chicken curry that had been cooking for approximately 3 months. The only two good things about this hotel are the pool and the gym. The pool is incredible and the gym manager is very lovely and helpful. Otherwise, don’t waste your time and money. The service is better at a youth hostel than this self proclaimed 5 star hotel.…
High-class restaurants and amazing infinity pool. Good room-service and technical supporters. Deluxe room is quite normal with average interiors. The corridor is quite dark and lacking of elevators. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with many issues in check-in process, POOR PROBLEM SOLVING when room is not available and having electrical issues, SUPER BAD ATTITUDE from receptionists. I WILL NEVER COME BACK!
The first time ever that I have had to experience such a terrible service! I am so mad that I have to write this review while sitting at the lobby waiting to check out. I hope no one will have to suffer this terrible service like me!
Very nice hotel, with comfortable, spacious, and clean rooms. My room has 2 balconies which was awesome. This hotel has the biggest and collest rooftop infinity pool I ever seen and the view is nice Friendly staff. Good location in Saigon, I totally recommend this hotel.
