This could be a great value hotel but it misses out on several counts. Let's be positive and start with the pluses: Location - well situated in HCMC, close to most of the major sights. A modern enough building but well soundproofed so little noise from the scooters at night. Breakfast was quite good, especially omelettes. Now for the negatives:...

We were kind of disappointed in this place as our guide had told us how great it was. In writing this however, I have to admit that it's still better than I expected when I booked the tour (G Adventures again). We've just been so spoilt in the other places we've stayed in that our expectations are a little higher...

Basic accommodations, not a luxury standard by any stretch of the imagination. The linens are clean, the drains are slow, breakfast was nicely varied. In my group alone we had a rat in one room a pool of blood in another, drains that wouldn't drain dirty towels and broken air conditioning units. Oh and the hotels safety deposit box is a drawer in front of all the staff. So many better options out there .

I write this as a westerner who is used to at least a Holiday Inn standard. This hotel formed part of an organised trip that I was on; the room was basic and the wifi coverage was poor. Each day we had to ask for towels, water and on one day clean tea cups. The breakfast buffet was basic and...

Difficult review this. The Golden Rose is not very good, it is also not average. I need a "Good" rating facility to more accurately describe my experience. To be honest, before I came (yes another G Adventures punter), I read the reviews with some concern, particularly the references to security... But I need to speak as I find in order...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, when we arrived in the room there was no toilet paper, then each time the house keeping was done, they failed to replace the soap and toilet paper, we had to on each occasion ask for some to be brought us. Stayed here 3 nights as part of a G Adventures tour. It was quite disappointing. The staff were not very friendly rooms were outdated and breakfast was nothing special. It was convenient for the Vietnam war museum but far away from all the restaurants and night life . We were originally given a room on the M floor( below reception)...

This is one of those places that looks great on the outside but once you're in, the cracks start to show. We stayed 3 nights in a double room.
