Ma Maison was my first exposure to small, family-run Vietnamese hotels.
It's located in District 3 - halfway between the airport and the downtown core (District 1).
It served as "tranquility base" during the three days that I stayed in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ma Maison was our first hotel in Vietnam. I must admit I was a little unsure on our approach as we left a super busy main road onto a side street and then stopped in front of a narrow alley. However, after a short walk...More
We stayed for 4 nights at Christmas and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is a little out of town but it's cheap to get a taxi into the centre. The staff and owners are lovely and can't do enough for you. Breakfast is great...More
This is the most welcoming guest house you could choose to stay in while visiting Ho Chi Minh City. The hosts Ms. Leung and Mr. Ha are the most hospitable hosts and try to make everything just perfect for your stay. They are a wealth...More
We spent a week here while exploring the city. It’s a wonderful location that’s only about 15 minutes ride from airport or 20 minutes taxi ride to district 1 Opera House area).
Long and Ha are great hosts in this family run hotel. From the...More

I don't think they do transfers, however the taxi system at the airport is great and as long as you have the address you will be fine. My only piece of info you must know is the taxi won't be able to get you to the door as the hotel is in an alley. Don't freak out the alley is full of families and is super safe. Trust me the hotel is fabulous and the staff will do everything they can to make your stay memorable and fuss free. Enjoy

The hotel is in District 3, we got the bus no 65 if I recall, into the city the bus stop is beside the park (I'll talk about the park at the end) on the main road just 5 minutes from the hotel, Tom who is especially sweet insisted he took us to the bus stop. You can take a taxi however the traffic is crazy. The tunnels as per previous info. We did eat locally to the hotel and it was where locals ate. Noodles, veg, chilli garlic affair. We also took a taxi nearer the centre and ate at lovely vegetarian restaurant called Hum.
The park, my husband and I went early in the morning 6.00am and the different activities that were going on was fantastic to see. Well worth a stroll around the little oasis among the frenetic scene outside the park.
Happy travels. X
