An old, but a well-maintained hotel with nice staff. Non-smoking rooms throughout the hotel. The room was spacious, but the bed was hard and pillows flat. Safe didn't work in my room. The shower too was only over the bath. No tea or coffee facilities were provided in the room, only a kettle! The mini-bar items are pretty cheap, and around the corner is a big supermarket which makes the location a bit more attractive. Breakfast was great with a massive selection of food to choose from. Was totally unimpressed with the staff as I had previously made some request via email and although they had agreed to acede to my requests, they did not fulfill them.

We spent our last night in this hotel and it was pleasant stay to finish our trip in Vietnam. The personnel was very very friendly and we made a lot of fun over there. The rooms are spacious, clean and the shower is amazing (rainshower type)! They offered a free bottle of water on the arrival which was nice, especially during a hot day.

This hotel is very centrally located with a good range of facilities for its price. What makes this hotel special is the level of service. The reservation manager Miss Thah really took care of my wife and mother, her patience and understanding were fantastic. Great teamwork and really fast service. I strongly recommend this hotel if you want a central base with a great team of staff!

I booked via hotels (dot) com. They didn't inform me about the current laws concerning Vietnamese partner. The told me, after the fact "Local laws may restrict unmarried guests from sharing rooms. Guests are responsible for providing proof of marriage, if requested by the hotel. A guest who is not a Vietnamese citizen cannot share a room with a Vietnamese citizen without proof of marriage to each other. Otherwise, a second room must be booked". I was stupid enough to give them my passport AND my girlfriend's Vietnamese ID card. Don't do it and they don't ask. Hotels never told me that. A grave ommission. I started to read the booklet in the room. The booklet has 4 full pages of what you must pay when you go berserk and destroy anything and everything. Complete list of items with prices. You feel criminalized by reading it. What clientele has Victory hotel had in the past? I found it insulting. The booklet is written in such a lousy, legalized English that it is hardly readable. Google Translate would be ashamed of a result like this. It is a no good. First hotel I’ve been to, and they are many, that charges the guests for using the pool. Outsiders, OK, but not guest. Sounds like a rip-off scheme. Almost 3 USD for a swim? It is a scam. As an outside guest at a nice hotel in Nha Trang, Tran Vien Dong Hotel, I pay less than half that. And the showers at the pool as no soap nor soap dispensers as in the rooms. To install those wouldn’t cost much, neither in VNDs nor in manpower The pool was approx. 16 meters long, well maintained and the pool attendant did an admirable job looking after it.. The room has only 2 pillows for two. Most hotels have at least four. Difficult to use a PC with one pillow under your head. They have a water boiler in the room, but no coffee as you would have expected. The boiler is for noddle stuff supplied for a price.

Have stayed in better 2 star hotels.(Boss3 hotel). We Stayed in a "luxury" room on 4th floor. The room was spacious, but bed was hard and pillows flat. Very noisy from road outside. Shower in bath was awful, was not fixed but on a hose that would not attach to the wall. You had to wet yourself then turn it off while you soaped, then turn it on again to rinse, often spraying the whole bathroom in the process. Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was disapponting. There was a decent range of hot and cold western and Viet dishes. However no juices, no yogurt, and fresh fruit consisted of only watermelon, banana and not very nice grapes, which was poor. No western style coffee and fresh milk was not fresh but UHT. Staff were friendly and some spoke English. Location was good, close to war museum and good eateries. Certainly expected more.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel recently. We were both very disappointed. Some of the 2 star hotels we stayed in while in Vietnam were far better!! The security men at the entrance were very friendly but the reception staff weren’t very nice. On checking in we were told nothing about breakfast, the pool, WiFi etc. Worse again were the staff in the “business center”. When we made our way to the swimming pool we were stopped by a man calling for a ticket. We came down to reception and were abruptly told that we needed to purchase tickets in the business center. There, we were dealt with disdainfully. The swimming pool is 4 dollars per person per visit!! Had this been advertised we would not have picked this hotel. Overall we didn’t have an enjoyable experience in this hotel. The breakfast is mediocre, the beds were hard and the swimming pool is a major disappointment. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We were allocated room 806 the first night, not realising our room's ceiling was the restaurant's floor! Scraping chairs and table began at 0500 and various banging of tables and chairs took off again after lunch and dinner meals. Do not accept any room in the range of 801 to 808 as these lie directly or within hearing of the 9th floor restaurant. The only other knock on the Victory Hotel was the receptionist's stubborn refusal to return our passports "because our room charge had not been fully paid for". I hate leaving my passport anywhere out of my sight and in this case, in an unlocked drawer reachable from across the desk. Not acceptable! Always remember to check it is YOUR passport they give you back, more than once I've been given the wrong Aussie passport. Other than those points though, the Victory Hotel was a fine place to stay that we greatly enjoyed. Highly recommended with the above caveats.

I visit H.C.M. CITY usually once a year and stay for a few weeks. I have a brother who lives there. Most times I stay with him. But this year I took my partner with me and she wanted a little more privacy than sharing a room with my 12 year old nephew. So we opted to stay in the Victory hotel. I had seen the place many times before as part of it is on the same street my brother lives - VO VAN TAN - it has a very nice swimming pool on the roof, open to non residents, I have used it in the past. The service is nothing short of excellent. Breakfast is included in the price, which is nice and there are choices to suit all nationalities and tastes. Sadly I am not able to remember the price, except to say it was more than reasonable going on very cheap. It is in one of the better parts of the city. Near to the centre. Within walking distance to the Viet Nam war relics museum, very interesting.
