My wife and 2 sons stayed here for 3 nights during a trip through Vietnam. I primarily booked this hotel because of its location in the old quarter, it has a large swimming pool and also it appeared to be good value for money with breakfast included in a reasonable tariff. I believe the hotel is owned by the military...

My Vietnamese counter part booked this hotel for our team claming that it was accessibled for disabilities people. however, it was not many of my team had to help one of my team memeber who is disabled (using wheel chair to) to enter the hotel (there are many steps). Although the room is very nice (french colonial building), though the...

We wanted a hotel with a pool to keep the kids occupied. We stayed at about 8 hotels (3 star + pool) in Vietnam. Without a doubt this hotel was the worst. The breakfast was prepared at about 6am and consisted of deep fried eggs, omelete sliced, sausage and fatty bacon (all cold), 2 fresh fruits (if they hadn't run...

Stayed at the Army Hotel for three nights and thought it was fine. A little dated sure, but comfy beds and larger rooms and bathroom than other hotels that I stayed at. Staff do seem a little standoffish at times but quite efficient. We went to Halong Bay for one night and left our laundry to be done. When we...

Our family of 5 spent 4 nights in the Army Hotel in Hanoi. We booked this via a travel agent who called it "modest" but we came to discover this meant 'old and a bit rustic'. The rooms were rather spacious, free Wi-Fi in the lobby was nice (including 4 PCs with free access), air-conditioning worked well and included remotes,...

Not much to recommend this place besides its location. Surly service, average breakfast and dreary surroundings. Pool closed during our visit

Stayed at the Army Hotel for 2 nights recently. The hotel exceeded my expectations of a 3-star hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture were in good condition though the wooden bed frame creaked and the mattress was too firm for my liking. Items such as towels, shampoo, soap, bath gel, comb, toothbrushes and toothpaste...

We stayed here for a total of 3 nights with a break in the middle. The 2 rooms we had were mirror images of each other. This hotel is run by the Army, by serving Army staff. We found the staff very helpful (overheard reception telling a US guest changing $ to dong "for this much you could get a...

This i s the worst experience that I have in life. The service was terrible. When I first checkin , they told me my room was $50 dollars a night. At the time I check out, they were charging me $80 a night. Claiming that they up grade my room to a suit. The room was dirty and smelly. The...

The army hotel is in the perfect location, just step outside and shop til you drop. This is a basic hotel, fine for anyone who doesnt want to spend a whole lot of money on something fancy but just wants the basics. As far as the places I stayed in Vietnam which were all only about 2 or 3 star...
