First thing our guide told us when we arrived at the Hanoi airport was please don’t try to compare us with other places. This hotel is nice in the Old City Center. Yes the breakfast room can be crowded. Yes the internet may require you to get help from the front desk. Yes the shower funnels water onto the floor and down the drain. Yes the staff’s English varies. It has an old European feel and location is super if you want to be downtown and near many tourist sites. Many travel groups use this hotel. We are glad we stayed for 5 days 👍
Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. House keeping, food and atmosphere is very nice. Strongly recommend for tourists. I will visit again for sure. Thanh Huyen is wonderful and helpful girl. All staff always greet with
The staff was exceptionally kind and the old quarter location is great. The room was so small that my open suitcase impeded my path to the barroom. Worse, there was no hot water for my morning shower. I went to make myself some warm tea, only to find that there was no way to heat water for the tea and coffee they provided. Really disappointing.
We arrived at the hotel and were so disappointed that we immediately tried to Google an alternative. Fellow travellers should be aware that the staff do not speak good English, the swimming pool was out of action with maintenance men hanging around when we arrived, workmen were also ripping out a bedroom next door to us so there was considerable drilling noise and a lot of dust in the corridor, only one of the lifts had a proper inside casing but had a musty smell, different WiFi codes are needed for each room and the whole place looks in need of refurbishment to meet its “luxury” title. We were given an alternative room but the bathroom constantly buzzed quite loudly and was quite dingy and tired. Walking down the stairs I felt I was in some basic youth hostel and for us, I would say at best, it is a 2 star establishment not a 4 star plus. Having specified to our UK travel agent and their Asian partners that we wanted top quality 4/5 star accommodation for this, our first trip to Asia, sadly the Golden Lotus did not deliver.…
We booked two identical rooms ( window executive room) from the 06/10 - 9/10. however the rooms were NOT the same. One room was very small. My elderly parents were in the small room. When my husband spoke to the Manager of the hotel he was told the rooms were the same, they were not. My husband ask the manager to change the rooms for my parents and was told the hotel was full and the rooms were the same size. My parents could not even walk around the bed without closing their suitcases! The Manager screamed at my husband and he would not listen to what he had to say. We requested a refund for one room and the Manager declined and told us to go to complain to travel agent This is unexpectable!!!!!!! We had stayed in the hotel in 2017 and ask the agent to book this hotel for us. We also asked the front desk to book us a taxi to take us to the airport and was told it was booked. The taxi did not come in the morning and the reception staff could not understand English to help us book another taxi. The doorman had to help the front desk. This is a second stay at your hotel and will never stay or recommend your hotel to anyone again. The service was poor the rooms were old and run down…
Located in the old quarter, this hotel is very near the shopping mall. You can walk for relaxing. Swimming pool so good, all the room's facilities were modern. Hotel's staff so lovely and helpful. I will be back here soon.
The best part about staying at the Golden Lotus is that the staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. During my stay, I left an item behind in the hotel and was promptly assisted by Victor from the hotel management, who returned the item to me within two days, even though I’d left Hanoi and was about to leave the country. Thank you to the team at Golden Lotus Luxury!
Well this hotel definitely isn't 'Luxury'. The room was small and dark even though there was a large window facing the street. It also didn't help that the bathrooms are floor to ceiling black tiles. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, therefore every time you showered you had to be careful as you walked around so not to slip. The breakfast was very average and only had a small selection of food choices. However the staff at the hotel were lovely and the location was excellent. Would only recommend this hotel for the location, however there were many hotels in the area.
Me and my friend have booked the room few months ago for this occasion, it had confirmed and our first impression of Ha Noi was destroyed by them, they were over booked and gave us very unacceptable and simple reason to go away not eventually helped us though some solution because we had no place to go then. That’s a end year’s party eve so the hotels full at all finally we could get a place to stayed after very long looking for, very upset.
Booked a month in advance, got cancelled 30 minutes before arriving, because of some illegitimate, made up, reason. Our room was given away and they could not even offer us an alternative. Really unreliable.
