I had a hard time choosing a hotel in Hanoi as there are hundreds of them and of very different locations. I finally chance upon Zephyr Hotel from reviews at TA itself! :-) And am I soooo glad I chose this hotel. Zephyr Hotel is GREAT for the following reasons: 1. It's fantastic location - almost everything is within walking...

My husband and I stayed at the Zephyr in June 2007. Our room was fairly small for the price (we had a much bigger room at another hotel in Hanoi for a lot less) but that wasn't a problem for us as we didn't spend too much time in our room, save a few hours in the afternoon to avoid...

We found this to be a great little hotel, right near the old quarter and the lake just across the road. The room we had was a nice size and big bathroom with shower. The room was very clean and comfortable. Fresh fruit and bottled water everyday. The breakfast was very good and a wide choice and cooked fresh in...

We loved the Zephyr- I know that it has rooms that overlook the stairwell, a frightening dangerouus low rail to that same nine storey stairwell! and stains on carpets but it is in the best location. We got up early both days we were there to walk around the lake which is really just across the road and watched all...

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our first trip to Vietnam. We were delighted with the location...it's perfect for exploring the city and it's quiet! Our room was rear facing..quite small and dark but clean and adequate. (maybe not 4 *) The breakfast was perfect - plenty of choice and staff very helpful. They organised a...

A nice little hotel in a fantastic location in the heart of the old quarter. Within close distance to all the major sights and events. Rooms are adeqaute, nothing special, nothing terrible either. If anything, first night stay was in a room that overlooked the staircase, which was less than appealing. Our second night after a trip overnight to Halong...

I just left the Zephyr hotel after a three night stay. We had a room on the second floor, near the gym, which was not at all loud because no one used the gym once that I could tell (it has three machines). More importantly, the Zephyr is looking kind of tired. There are numerous stains on the carpets, and...

Zephyr was a fairly good stop in Hanoi. If you're expecting 4-star, you will definitely be disappointed. We booked 2 suites that were very big in size (1 had 2 bedrooms & would be good for travelers with children). But decor, carpet, furnishings were a bit on the "shabby chic" side. We loved the location, just across the street from...

I travel to Hanoi on a regular basis for work and usually stay at the Church Hotel, and sometimes the Horison. The Church was full this time, so I opted for the Zephyr since it is downtown (the Horison's location is not great). In anycase, the Zephyr is a very average hotel. While a bit bigger than the Church, it...

Pros: Great location. Internet access (for those with laptop). Eager to please staff. Great breakfast buffet. Nice bathroom. Business center and small exercise room. And most important in Hanoi: It's QUIET! Cons: Overpriced rooms and laundry. A bit shabby. Wasn't impressed with restaurant for dinner. It reminded me of a nice Comfort Inn back in the US, that was striving...
