LOCATION: Smack in the heart of Hanoi and around the fringe of the Hanoi old quarter. Broad tree lined road in front. Most areas are walking distance or a US 2 dollar taxi ride away. HOTEL: A genuine 3-4 star hotel at a reasonable price. The Hotel and the rooms look slightly dated but are large and comfortable compared to...

I have visited Hanoi several times, and stayed at Hanoi Opera Hilton, Horizon (Now Pullmann) and Melia. Galaxy has the best service , best location and the most friendly staff. Ok the rooms are not that sophisticated in the design, but everything is clean. The breakfast could be bigger, but for someone always fighting with the weight, it is sufficient,...

We stayed at the galaxy hotel on a recent trip to Hanoi from New Zealand. This is a 3 star Hotel located in Hanoi's ' Old town district'. This place is only 3 star but is more than adequate, as good or better than most 3 star hotels here at home. Our room didnt have too many mod cons. A...

I stayed two nights at the Galaxy Hotel in mid-July. I had a large and comfortable room, though the bed was a bit hard. I found the lobby and breakfast area a bit drab and boring-looking, still, the staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is within walking-distance of the Hoan Kiem lake and the '36 streets'.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel in the middle of crazy Hanoi. Even when we checked out they kindly let us us their foyer to rest and wait in. The rooms were immaculate and the coffee sachets delicious. Great wee cafe/bar attached. We stayed with a small tour so was good that the bus could come right to the door.

Just came back from a 4 night stay as the last part of our Vietnam trip. Hotel staff are excellent from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Received a nice complimentary bowl of fruit on arrival which is a nice touch. The staff speak english which is a big help compared to smaller hotels I stayed...

I stayed at this hotel on a bicycle tour. The hotel is largely patronized by tour groups; if you are traveling independently you could readily find more charming and contemporary accommodations. The location of the hotel lends itself well to street-side access for tour buses, which is not so readily available on quieter streets. Staff pleasant and competent. Convenient location...

We found this hotel to be clean, staff friendly and obliging, and close to good restaurants and markets. It was a bit noisy in one of the rooms we had as it was facing right onto the main street and locals don't go to bed early!! The others in our group didn't have a problem with the noise as they...
