Just had a lovely 6 day stay at the Rising Dragon Palace Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms immaculate and wonderful food. Would definitely recommend restaurant purple cherry.

We did the 2d 1n tour on the Paloma junk boat. The boat, food, tour guides and staff were all amazing, it was one of the highlights of Vietnam for me. Halong bay is quite a long drive (3-4) hours from Hanoi, so I would recommend spending at least one night on the boat, a day trip would be too much time on a minibus and not enough in Halong bay.
